本周我们结合上半年的雅思听力考试，分享农业与环境主题词汇。
1. antiseptic/æntɪ'septɪk/
n. 杀菌剂；消毒剂
e.g. many of the ingredients for antiseptics come from the rainforests.
e.g. this antiseptic is for external use only.
e.g. antiseptic is used to sterilize the skin before giving an injection.
补充：sterilize 对…作灭菌(或消毒)处理
2. weed /wiːd/
v. 给…除杂草；
e.g. we need to weed the garden.
e.g. try not to walk on the flower beds when weeding or hoeing.
补充：hoe v. 锄地
n. 杂草;野草
e.g. weeds thrive in poor soil where other plants struggle.
e.g. weeds can choke out healthy plants if not removed in time.
习语补充：grow like a weed 飞快生长
e.g. the tomato plants in our backyard are growing like weeds thanks to all the rain.
3. pest /pest/
n. 害虫
e.g. these insects/birds are pests for farmers.
e.g. the garden was overrun with pests, causing damage to the crops.
e.g. the invasive species has become a significant agricultural pest in the region.
补充：invasive adj. 入侵的
n. pest 令人讨厌的人
e.g. my little brother is such a pest when i’m trying to do my homework.
4. humidity /hjʊ'mɪdɪtɪ/
n. 空气湿度
e.g. the warmer air causes an increase in humidity.
e.g. it takes time to get used to the heat and humidity of a tropical country.
adj. humid 潮湿的；湿润的
e.g. this humid heat makes you feel rather sluggish.
e.g. it's very hot and humid today.
补充：sluggish adj. 懒洋洋的；
5. concrete /ˈkɑːnˌkriːt/
n. 混凝土
搭配补充：concrete jungle: a city or an area that has a lot of modern buildings and you think it is ugly or unpleasant to live in. 混凝土丛林（混凝土建筑构成的现代化城市或地区）
e.g. i finally got out of the concrete jungle and moved to the country.
e.g. new york city is often called a concrete jungle because of its many skyscrapers and busy streets.
补充：skyscraper n. 高楼
