a representative of the chinese basketball association (cba) stated: “the cba is aware of the situation and is currently conducting a verification process together with the relevant departments. the association will handle the matter with a serious and fact‑based attitude, and the findings and subsequent decisions will be released to the public in a timely manner.”
on the 11th, multiple online media outlets and social media accounts reported that li yize’s appearance closely resembles that of a player named zhang hanbo, who previously competed in domestic youth tournaments, raising suspicions that they may be the same person.
