The recent Windows 11 preview is good news for those who want to access Task Manager in an easier way. The first version of , launched nearly two years ago, moved the Task Manager context menu shortcut from the taskbar to the Start menu. It goes without saying that some people are confused when looking for the app, so the feedback on this is quite obvious.
users want the task manager to return to the taskbar, and in the latest Windows 11 preview, that's exactly what Microsoft is doing.
"Based on your feedback, we have added the Task Manager to the context menu when right-clicking the taskbar. Let us know what you think!" the company said. However, remember that this feature is currently part of the Windows Insider program, and it will take some time for new changes to start pushing generally.
Microsoft says this version also comes with system tray improvements, which now allows users to rearrange icons.
"This version includes icons that initially support rearrangement of system pallets for insiders with system pallet updates, which are launched from Build 25197. Further improvements to this experience will soon arrive. As a reminder, these system pallet updates are still being launched and are not open to all insiders. If your computer does not have these changes, your system pallet experience will remain the same as before," the company explained.
Last but not least, Microsoft is also fixing date and time errors on some devices, according to the official update log.
Microsoft said: "We are starting to launch a server-side solution to the problem that causes the incorrect date, time and time zone information to be displayed inappropriately, which also prevents the installation of the latest Insider Preview build."
