Widgets Settings

In this update, Microsoft splits the Widget selector and Widgets settings so that you can find and interact with each view more easily. The Widget selector is now opened by the "+" button and the Widgets settings are opened by the "Me" button.

Microsoft replanned the space occupied by the previous selector in the Widget settings and overrides the taskbar settings for height requests based on Insider feedback, allowing you to control how Widget entries work on the taskbar.

When you click the "Me" button in the picture above to open the Widget settings, you will see three taskbar behaviors that can be turned on or closed.

Please note that the toggle wording in the Widget settings in this version is slightly different from what is shown in the screenshot above. In future updates, the toggle text in the widget settings will be updated to reflect what is in the screenshot (above).

Among the three switches in the Widget settings, you can

● Controls whether the Widget panel is opened when you hover over the taskbar icon.

● Controls whether the widget will display notification marks on the taskbar.

● Controls whether the content of the real-time widget on the taskbar displays more than the weather.

Windows 11 Build 25211 also introduced some improvements

[Taskbar]

● Based on your feedback, we added a link to the Task Manager when right-clicking on the Taskbar. Let us know what you think!

[System Pallet]

● This version includes preliminary support for rescheduling the system pallet icon for insiders with system pallet updates, which is launched starting from Build 25197. Further improvements to this experience will soon be coming. As a reminder, these system tray updates are still being launched and are not yet open to all insiders. If your computer doesn't have these changes, your system tray experience will remain the same as before.

[File Explorer ]

● Fixed issue: When File Explorer is in full screen mode (F11), it cannot interact with the top part of file explorer (including search and address boxes).

[Settings].

● Currently, you will no longer be able to uninstall applications with interdependencies (for example, Steam and game applications running on Steam), or fix the Win32 application under the application that sets the application installed. You are still able to modify and uninstall Win32 applications without interdependencies.

● The clips used to move the emoji panel and touch the keyboard should now update the colors correctly when you switch between dark and light modes.

● Fixed memory leak when repeated calls to the input switch .

[Settings]

● Fixed a setting crash that could occur when changing your mobile hotspot name.

● Updated examples used in short-term selection in the Time and Language Language and Region format, making the 12-hour option (versus 24 hours) more obvious by displaying the morning and afternoon times.
