SK Telecom said that "Sua" is the first time that the domestic communications industry has adopted "virtual people" as product endorsement model.
During the filming of the "A." ad, Sua's facial image was switched to the face of a real actress, and her voice was created using the company's artificial intelligence voice synthesis technology.
Sua is the latest in a series of recent virtual human development projects, mostly launched by gaming companies in South Korea, most notably the virtual internet celebrity Rozy created by video technology company Sidus Studio X, which made headlines for starring in many of the high-profile product ads .
SK Telecom said: "In the future, various technologies such as artificial intelligence will be applied to overall services and advertising."
