Story: Lun Wenxu A clever reward for the governor

On this day, Lun Wenxu finished selling vegetables at Xichan Temple, collected the food and was about to go home when he suddenly heard loud gongs and drums. It turned out that Wu Chen, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, was coming to the temple to offer incense and pray for blessings. Zen Master Puzhao of Xichan Temple quickly led the monks to play and beat and went out of the temple to greet him.
Lun Wenxu had long heard that the Governor-General Wu Chen was also a talented man and wanted to get to know him. However, he was a poor boy. Where could he have the chance to visit?
Finally got the chance to meet today, how could we miss it? So he put down his burden of food and took advantage of the monks to prepare for the ceremony. He quietly got into the main hall and hid under the altar.
After a while, the Governor-General Wu Chen arrived. While Wu Chen was paying homage to the Buddha statue, offering incense and praying, he suddenly saw a dark shadow moving under the altar. He thought someone was going to assassinate him, so he was frightened and quickly called the guards to arrest the assassin. The guards quickly caught the "assassin", who turned out to be an eleven or twelve-year-old child.
When Zen Master Puzhao saw Wenxu being tied up, he was afraid that Xiao Wenxu would suffer, so he hurriedly saluted Wu Chen: "This is the child prodigy Lun Wenxu near our temple. Although the poor monk is old, he often opposes him in reciting poems. This child is quick in thinking and can respond well. Today's offense against Huwei is really out of ignorance. I hope you will forgive me!"
When Wu Chen heard that the child in front of him could recite poems and make answers, he felt a little happy. He asked the guards to loosen the restraints and said to Xiao Wenxu: "I will test you today. If you get it right, I will forgive you. If you don't get it right, you will be severely punished. Boy, do you dare to get it right?" Lun Wenxu nodded.
Wu Chen also came from a humble background. He became a Jinshi through diligent study and gradually rose to important positions after graduation. He also had a love for talents. So Wu Chen composed a first couplet about the imperial examination:
"A Han Confucian climbs the dragon, climbs the phoenix, and climbs the red osmanthus."
This first couplet is clearly making fun of ethics, and it also made the civil servants who were accompanying him very upset. Lun Wenxu thought for a while and then wrote the second couplet:
"Three precious Buddhas, sitting on a turtle, sitting on an elephant, and sitting on a lotus."
This second couplet is not only neatly matched, but also written based on the scene in front of him: You said that I came here to climb the dragon and attach the phoenix, but you and I are just mortals under the three precious Buddhas.
After reciting the short article, everyone was shocked, and Wu Chen was full of praise.
Wu Chen felt deeply sorry when he heard that Wenxu was out of school. He immediately asked the civil servant next to him to go back to the Governor's Mansion to get fifty taels of silver. He said to Lun Wenxu, "Selling vegetables is not your career. You should study hard, get ahead, and serve the country."
