According to legend, in the Western Han period, there was a scholar named Wang Zhang. His family was poor, but he had a wife who did not dislike his poverty and was with him.
One day, it was raining heavily, and he happened to be sick again. He could only hide in the cowshed with his wife and use a straw raincoat covering the cow to keep the cold at night. He was worried that he would die because of this, so that his wife would cry to each other in the straw raincoat used to cover the cow. His wife scolded him and said, "Who can compare to your knowledge in the imperial court in the capital?" After hearing this, he couldn't help but feel ashamed.
Later, he went to Chang'an, the capital to study, and his academic performance was excellent. He quickly became an official. He was also sentenced to death because he couldn't stand the dictatorship of Emperor Cheng of Han and Wang Feng, the uncle of Emperor Cheng of Han, controlled the government and did not listen to his wife's advice and wrote a letter.
