The fables of frogs and scorpions tell us that most of us can’t help but hurt others, even if it’s not good for them.
This fable is one of my favorite stories ever because it teaches us human nature. Human minds are dark and evil. Our actions are in our best interest, but sometimes our actions are not in our best interest.
There used to be a scorpion and a frog living there. Scorpion thought about the pond, but, as a scorpion, he could not swim. So he tiptoed to the frog and asked, "Mr. Frog, can you carry me through the pond?" The frog replied, "When I swim over, you may stung me." Scorpion asked, but why should I do this? It is not in my interest to sting you, because you will die, and I will drown.
Although the frog knows how deadly the scorpion is, the logic proves to be very convincing. So the frog agreed. The scorpion climbed onto his back and they stepped across the pond together.
Just as they reached the center of the pond, the scorpion twitched its tail and stung the frog. The frog who suffered fatal injuries screamed, why do you sting me? It is not in your interest to stab me, because now I am going to die, and you are going to drown. I know, the scorpion answered and sank into the pond.
But I am a scorpion. I want to sting you. This is my nature. We naturally want to help others, but most of the time people always think about their own interests. Most of the time, a liar is always a liar, and a person without integrity will sooner or later show his nature.
The nature of human beings is to make people believe that doubt is beneficial, but my short stay on earth made me discover. When you keep giving people the benefits of doubt, they get benefits and you get doubt. People will eventually show you who they are, and they will show their true colors, even if they try to hide in the beginning.
Like the frog in the story, we all fall into the trap of empathy and most of the time we get hurt in the process. The frog didn't expect the scorpion to stung him because they were all about to drown.
There are evil people, antisocials, psychopaths, malignant narcissists, and personality disorders in the world. Liars lie, liars cheat, gossip, evil people do evil things, we act according to our instincts most of the time.
The meaning of the story, believe in your intuition, love is not what people say about behavior. Scorpion and frog are a fable about a scorpion sting and killing a frog that helped it and dying in the process.
