Dinwiddie received technical foul with 47.8 seconds left in the second quarter. After the game, he told reporters that a teammate told him that referee Tony Braddie called Dinwiddie "bitch ass motherf--er."
"Everyone is competitive on the court. I know that I was hot-headed and I must have said swearing. But if the opponent said that to my opponent, I would say, 'Hey, I'm here.' But the referee is an official identity, you didn't expect to say such things. 'If you think so, no problem. When I say it in person, just like any adult.' I'm not angry at all. Everyone will swear when they are angry or hurt. No problem, just say it in person."
Braddies is one of the most senior referees in NBA, and has been punished for 29 seasons.
"I apologize for being angry with Tony Brads, just applauding. He thinks it's disrespectful. If you watch the game, I know this is what the referee should do. You see me clapping my hands to get my teammates' attention, it's natural. But this is not a personal grudge. As a man, I apologize first. Secondly, I not only want to get my money back (finished for technical fouls), but I don't like being scolded in front of my teammates 'bitch ass motherf--er.'"
