Personal opinion is placed first: there are many fishing rod sizes and types, but we only use one or two commonly used. 4.5 and 7.2 are basically the necessary rod lengths for wild fishing. The sizes of 5.4 and 8.1 are the most awkward. The specific reason will be mentioned later, but from the observations during the fishing process, this is indeed the case.
It is really not easy to choose a satisfying fishing rod, because everyone has different fishing environments, different sizes, and different focus. Maybe you think the fishing rod that others think is particularly useful is not very useful, but it is possible that others will think it is heavy and feel bad when using the fishing rod that you are used to. In fact, as long as you use it for a long time, you will get used to it. I want to explain this: use your own equipment yourself, and don’t always listen to others saying “Your fishing rod is heavy, your fishing rod feels bad” and so on. It’s more important than anything else to change the rod.
wild fishing rod length is very important
Only those who sell fishing rods and show their superiority will evaluate other people's equipment all day long. Generally, fishermen only need to pay attention to how to lure the fish into the nest, how to open the fish, and how to blast and protect the big fish. These points are precisely what the fishing rod cannot provide too much help. Of course, fishing rods with good feel should be easier when fishing for the same number of fish, but you must understand: good feel, can pull big fish, fishing with heavy fish, perfect center of gravity, good waist strength... There are currently no fishing rods that combine all the advantages on the market! If you want to catch big fish, don’t be afraid of heavy fish. If you want to feel comfortable, don’t catch big fish. Even if you are trying to catch silver carp and bighead carp, you can use a light rod to draw the nest first, and then use a heavy rod to catch the fish.
Cheap fishing rod you may think it can't walk the big fish by rubbish, and you will not find that it is actually not that bad after you get a fish that exceeds expectations. And expensive fishing rods are generally unwilling to take them out to catch big fish, and they dare not use them too big for fear of a big fish blowing rod. It is beyond the reach of regret. One thing is to say, when you buy a fishing rod, it is used, and the blowing rod is the glory of the fishing rod and your glory, so don't be afraid of blowing rods.
In fact, in most cases, we only need to prepare fishing rods of 4.5 and 7.2 in wild fishing. Generally, the most used fishing rods are 7.2 in reservoirs and rivers, and the most used fishing ditches and wild ponds are 4.5 in small rivers and wild ponds. Other rod lengths are rarely used a few times a year. Of course, some special fishing situations still require: a specific length of rods is required to catch a den for fishing, such as two troughs and the like.
Fishing big fish one inch long one inch strong
Why do you say that the length of rods of 8.1 and 5.4 are particularly useless? Let’s talk about 8.1 first: No matter how good the touch is, it cannot be grasped. You need to lift the rod with both hands, so the 8.1 grabbing cannot be grasped. So can we use 8.1 to guard the big fish? Of course you can guard it, but you can't beat 9 meters, 10 meters and rock rod . Most wild fishing guards use 9-10 meters. Anyway, you don't need to grab the mouth, one inch long and one inch stronger, and even if others have short rods, you can't rub the nest. Unless it is a fishing spot that can only be thrown out at 8.1, such as high ridges and high trees behind it, but it is rarely encountered by ordinary people. Some fishermen may say: I can use a short rod and long line to drag 8.1 to fish for a long line. In fact, this fishing method 7.2 rod is easier and more convenient to swing, and it is easier to use a ten-meter rod line and it is also easier to walk the fish.
So how about 5.4? It is also a relatively embarrassing rod length: fishing for small fish is too long, fishing for large fish is too short, and fishing for grass holes is too short. Unless you go to some black pits with relatively high fish density or free-range ponds to catch large fish frequently, it is rarely useful. Even if you are pulling silver carp and bighead carp, the 5.4 fishing rod is basically not able to be pulled in the wild fishing situation. I personally have five 5.4 fishing rods, but I haven't used them for two years: go to a place with relatively high density to catch crucian carp , matte carp , roficial , small-body carp , and use 4.5. When fishing grass carp , carp, bream , and carp tangerine carp basically starts at 7.2, and sometimes it will be used 10 meters.
Sometimes short rods can also be used as big fish
So, it is recommended that you put 4.5, 7.2, and 9 meters of fishing rods in your wild fishing bag, which is enough for most fishing situations. If you want to catch more, you can use 9 meters, because if you throw a nine-meter fishing rod, it is not much different from a rock rod. Even if you can't throw that far, the advantages of a rock rod are not so obvious. Generally speaking, 7.2 is used. 7.2 is still very advantageous when the river water depth exceeds 3 meters: it can be grasped and guarded, and it can be as small as two or three ounces to twenty or thirty pounds 7.2. If you use 4.5 to draw white , crucian carp, rofia, and turtle. In fact, the difference between 3.6 and 4.5 is really not very big when you draw the same fishing rod.
The rod is short, but not noodles
Of course, if you are fishing for fast fish flying fish, it is still a harder rod. For example, using a hard rod to fish for rofie can reduce the probability of unhooking and running fish, because rofie's mouth is very hard, and it takes a little more strength to make the rod harder to easily stab. Others such as 5.4, 6.3, and 8.1 can be kept at home, and if you take them out for wild fishing, the advantage is very small.
All the views above are purely personal opinions, and do not constitute suggestions for buying rods, nor are they authoritative recommendations. They are just some of my experiences in choosing and using rods in wild fishing over the years. I don’t sell anything myself. In order to avoid suspicion, I never recommend everyone to buy a certain brand of fishing rod. Sometimes I may give it a fair evaluation but it is not professional. If you have different opinions, we will discuss them together in the comment section, and there may be many fishing situations that I have not considered or encountered.
fishing conditions cannot be achieved overnight
