Linze has two rivers, the front river and the back river.
In summer, adults and children who know how to swim bathe in the river. There are very few people who can swim backstroke freestyle butterfly stroke . People call being able to swim "dapengpang". Just use your hands to paddle up and down, and your feet to push up and down to keep your body from sinking, even if you know how to swim. If you can hold your breath and stay underwater for a while, you'll be considered a "killer". As for speed, it doesn't matter. I've taken a bath in the river, but I haven't learned how to do it yet.
But I did become interested in fishing.
I used the needle from my grandma’s sewing box , burned it red in the kerosene lamp I used at night, softened it when it cooled, and made it into the shape of a fishing hook. Then he threaded a nylon thread through the eye of the needle, found a bamboo pole as a fishing rod , and a goose feather as a fish float, and set off.
There is a lot of mud in the river in Linze. Every winter, there are mud workers who go to the river with mud tools to make mud. Sometimes you happen to catch a big fish.
I know that there will be no fish in the front river and the back river, the current is too fast. So I found a small river full of water plants. What grows inside is Lao Ling and Chicken Head Rice . I dropped the fishing rod twice, and once I caught a thorn catalpa, I didn't dare to catch it. It kept rolling and was covered in thorns. I secretly thought, what kind of fish is this? Another time I caught a fish. All the fish caught ran back into the water.
When I catch a fish covered in thorns, it is like a small earthworm, rolling and twisting constantly. I dare not catch it because I am afraid of its thorns. Its spines are a bit like the spines of the Chinese flower fish or mandarin fish. They grow on the back. The fish is not big, about the same size as the small loach. Could it be that I caught the Little Dragon King in Xiaohe?
The stingray is not big either. As soon as it was hung up, it shouted. The sound was not loud, but I could hear it clearly. The cry of the thorn fish is similar in tone to the cry of an earthworm. Just because it makes a sound, it is called the thorn fish or the thorn fish. The cry of the thorn fish is a bit like longhorned .
I didn’t go fishing after that, because I was afraid that the old Dragon King would blame me. The first and last fishing results were like this: a catalpa and a squid.
