Everton boss Lampard will join the race for the former Manchester United forward, Lingard, who becomes a free agent this summer after his contract at Old Trafford expires. Lampard is determined to strengthen his forward line this summer and Lingard is the ideal replacement during a period of financial uncertainty for the club. He was born in Warrington and is understood to be keen to stay in his native north-west after a career at his boyhood club Manchester United. After a successful loan spell at West Ham United before last season, West Ham United also made an offer for Lingard, and Newcastle United also made an offer.
In addition to the major clubs in the Premier League , it is reported that Serie A Juventus, Inter Milan and Mourinho Roma have also expressed interest. But Lampard has known Lingard from his playing days and the 29-year-old would be a perfect fit for his side as he looks to introduce a passing-based game at Everton. Lingard has been with Manchester United since he was an academy player at the age of seven and has scored 56 goals in 298 games for his boyhood club. He also made 32 appearances for England and was part of the 2018 World Cup squad. Everton hope they will be in a stronger financial position next season after selling Richarlison to meet the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules for the financial year ending in June 2022. This should mean Lampard has support in the transfer market, with a free agent like Jesse Lingard a particularly attractive proposition for Everton.
