The Athletic reporter Shams Charania reported that the Lakers signed Lonnie Walker for 6.5 million a year.
Walker was the 18th pick in the first round in 2018. He played for the Spurs during his four-year rookie contract. Last season, he averaged 12.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, and his three-point shooting percentage was 31.4%.
Shams reported that the Lakers signed Troy Brown with a minimum salary. Brown is taking a break during the 2021-22 season, averaging 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
ESPN reporter Woj reported that free agent center Damian Jones agreed to accept a two-year veteran's minimum salary contract and return to the Lakers.
Jones started his career with the Warriors and briefly played for the Lakers in the 2020-21 season. Last season with the Kings, he averaged 8.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game, including starting the last 9 games of the regular season. He averaged 15.8 points, 7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks, with a shooting percentage of 72.5%.
