Beijing time on June 21, the 2022 FINA World Championships kicked off the fourth day of preliminaries in Budapest. The Chinese team ranked fifth in the preliminaries of the men's and women's mixed 4×100 meter medley relay and entered the final. Zhang Yufei and Zhu Jiaming passed the women's 200m butterfly semi-finals together, Wang Shun ranked 15th and entered the men's 200m medley semi-finals, Chen Jie successfully entered the women's 50m backstroke Semifinals.
As the swimming events of the World Championships progress, the overall condition of the Chinese team is getting better and better, and its competitiveness in various events has become stronger. This competition day begins with the women's 50-meter backstroke preliminaries. Only Chen Jie from the Chinese team participates. Guangdong star Liu Xiang is the world record holder in this event, but she did not come to Budapest to compete this time. Chen Jie played in Group 4. She was in the same group as Canada's Marseille and Wilm. As a result, Chen Jie finished third in the group with a time of 27.95 seconds, and Marseille ranked first with a time of 27.26 seconds.

The third event is the men's 200-meter medley preliminaries. Wang Shun and Tan Haiyang compete together. They both appear in the 5th group. This group Daiya Seto led in the first 50 meters. Wang Shun overtook the next 50 meters, and the time at the end of 100 meters was 55.01 seconds. In the third swimming style breaststroke , Seto Daiya overtook the lead again, while Wang Shun fell slightly behind. In the final 50-meter sprint, Seto Daiya maintained the lead. He took first place in the group with a time of 1 minute, 58 seconds and 29 seconds. Wang Shun was surpassed by many opponents and finished sixth in the group with a time of 1 minute, 59 seconds and 51 seconds. Qin Haiyang finished with 1 point. Ranked 7th in 59 seconds 68.
Based on the results of each group, Foster of the United States ranked first in 1 minute, 57 seconds and 94, followed by Kariz in 1 minute, 58 seconds and 25 seconds, and Wang Shun ranked 15th to enter the semi-finals. Based on the results of each group, Canada’s Mike Intosh ranked first in the preliminaries with a time of 2 minutes, 07 seconds and 26 seconds, followed by Frick Kinger of the American team with a time of 2 minutes, 07 seconds and 31 seconds. Zhang Yufei ranked 6th and entered the semi-finals. Another Chinese player Zhu Jiaming also entered the semifinals in 13th place with a time of 2:11.20.
Finally, the men's and women's mixed 4×100 meter medley preliminaries were held. The Chinese team sent out a lineup of Xu Jiayu , Yu Jingyao , Wang Changhao and Cheng Yujie . The Chinese team was in the same group as the Japanese team and the Netherlands team in the third group. The first player Xu Jiayu fell behind and was ranked second by the famous Japanese player Jiang Lingsuke. After the second shot entered the water, the Chinese team quickly fell to third place. They worked hard to catch up in the next game. Cheng Yujie successfully surpassed the Japanese team with the last shot. The Chinese team finished second in the group in 3 minutes, 44 seconds and 92 seconds. The Dutch team finished second in the group. Ranked first in 3 minutes, 43 seconds and 48 seconds.
In Group 4, the US team took first place in 3 minutes, 43 seconds and 16 seconds. Their four players were Murphy , Lily King, Andrew and Brown . Based on the results of each group, the Chinese team ranked fifth and successfully entered the finals. The American team ranked first, followed closely by the Dutch team.
