-about the motivation for running

nearly as a runner p15 In 2009, junior runners with a mileage of about 5,000 kilometers encountered many questions about running from their relatives and friends. In view of the love of running, the care and friendship for relatives and friends, I hereby choose some common questions to answer according to my own practical experience, aiming to eliminate some misunderstandings about running.

1. How did you fall in love with running?

Answer: I started running because of the need to lose weight.

I am 176.5 cm tall and 95 kg at my maximum weight. Because of obesity, the body has a critical state of hypertension, lumbar disc herniation , high uric acid and other pathologies. During the physical examination, the doctor reminded me to lose weight many times!

I found that walking, , walking failed to lose weight and I tried swimming to lose weight. In the autumn and winter of 2019, I insisted on swimming every day. At first I could swim 5 or 600 meters, and then I could swim about 1800 meters per hour. The initial results of weight loss have been reduced in half a year. 7 kg. When planning to increase the amount of swimming, the new crown epidemic came and it was inconvenient to participate in sports in the stadium. After staying at home for more than 40 days, the weight rebounded. Within two months, the rebound exceeded 4 kg. In order to prevent rebound and further lose weight, start running from April 19, 2019.

I only have time to go home after get off work and when I am free, I decide to run home from get off work every day. It is about 10 kilometers from work to home. I started jogging,If you really can’t run, just walk quickly. It takes nearly 90 minutes to get home in the first few days of exercise, and 60 minutes will be enough in half a year. That's how I "fall in love" with running.

is not so much "fell in love with running" as "forced to run".

I really fell in love with running and took the initiative to run. It was October 2019. At that time, I lost more than 20 kilograms (calculated based on the weight of 92 kilograms when I started running). The successful weight loss inspired my enthusiasm for running. Since then, I have often spared time for running outside of the way home from get off work. Occasionally, the mileage of a single run exceeds 20 kilometers. The best period of persistence was 181 consecutive days of running every day, running more than 10 kilometers every day. It should be said that since then I really fell in love with running.

2. How to develop a good exercise habit?

Answer: first needs to have a strong motivation, such as fitness goals, weight loss, etc. I started running because I wanted to lose weight.

Secondly, we must create basic conditions, such as arranging sports time, sports venues, basic sports equipment, facilities, etc. I choose to run because running does not require a ball sports venue such as a basketball court; no partner is needed; even a special track is not needed, and it is as simple as putting on running shoes and you can run.

Third, persistence is required. There is no sport that is not tired or sweaty! Although you may fall in love with a sport and may develop good exercise habits, the obstacles, hardships, and difficulties in the exercise process require your willpower to persevere.

3. Are you running because you like running or because of self-discipline?

Answer: I don't like running. I "force" myself to run because of the need to lose weight and fitness. Because for me, choosing running to lose weight and fitness is the easiest and easiest to do. I used to swim for nearly a year, and now I still hold a swimming pool annual card, but I need to go to the swimming pool, it takes time, and the efficiency of weight loss is not as high as running. Since I found that running is more effective for weight loss and fitness than swimming,Gradually reduced the frequency and time of swimming. If I find a better way to exercise, I may stop running. I am thinking about learning martial arts recently.

4. Do you want to stop running because of being tired?

Answer: Running, especially fast running and long-distance running, is very tiring. It is normal not to run when tired. There have been cases of slowing down and stopping during running; sometimes I don’t want to run at all on a rest day. , This is also normal. In the past, the need to lose weight motivates me to run; now it is the need of fitness to motivate me to run. Recently, I have been studying running skills to improve my speed and run further. This is also a good incentive. There are always thoughts of being tired, but the power of motivation is often stronger!

5. What do your relatives and friends think of your running and fitness activities?

Answer: Relatives and friends have roughly four views on my running: First, I think there is no need to run. I am originally healthy. What does it matter if I am a little fatter? There are very few runners among my relatives and friends, and they generally don't understand very much about persisting in running. Second, I think running is too hard and may even cause sports injuries, so I care about me and advise me not to run. The most typical is my mother-in-law. She thinks she is too tired. She also said, "I lose weight too thin, not good-looking, don't lose it anymore!" The third reason is that running is a waste of time and affects study and life. Every run must go through five stages: preparation, running, relaxation, and bathing. It takes about 1 hour to run 5 kilometers, and more than 1.5 hours to run 10 kilometers. It does take time and energy. Therefore, it is necessary to make overall arrangements for the time. I run 10 kilometers on my way home from get off work every day, which only takes less than an hour longer than traveling by car, and it does not seriously affect my study and life. The fourth is to encourage me to improve my skills, improve pace, increase distance, improve athletic ability, and encourage me to participate in the marathon. I feel that I am running for health and there is no need to participate in sports activities too much.

6. Have you ever encountered obstacles in running?

Answer: Of course has encountered various obstacles. One is a hindrance that cannot be spent on time. After all, it is the prime of life, busy with business, and there is not much "spare time". The second is the obstacle of lack of energy. Sometimes, after running for more than ten kilometers, there is no energy to read and study. Since I started running, my reading volume has indeed decreased a lot. The third is the hindrance that may affect the housework. After all, I live in a family, so I can’t help but eat fireworks. Runners, be sure to deal with the contradiction between running and doing housework. When you should be with your family or enjoy family love, stop first! Sometimes, I "run in place" at home, taking my children and running at the same time. The fourth is the hindrance of sports injuries. Running is a technical job, and improving skills requires learning techniques, and preventing sports injuries also requires learning techniques. If you don't know how to prevent injury, you won't be able to run if you are injured! Fifth, the emotion of running tired. Sometimes I'm tired and don't want to go out for a run. At this time, I need to adjust my emotions and need positive motivation. I really don't want to run, and it's okay to stop running occasionally, after all, there is no utilitarian demand. Reasonable arrangement of running breaks is a good adjustment, and it is also the need for " excessive recovery " after exercise.
