The torch of the 14th National Games and the Paralympic Games officially passed in Shaanxi
On August 16, the 14th People’s Republic of China Games, the 11th People’s Republic of China Paralympic Games and the 8th Special The starting ceremony for the ignition of the Olympic torch relay was held at Yongningmen Square in Xi'an.
With the theme of "Prosperous National Games, Chang'an in the World" and following the concept of "Inclusiveness of Disabled and Healthy", the torch relay of the 14th National Games and the Paralympic Games adopted the "two fires in one" relay method for the first time. From August 16th to September 12th, the torch relay was carried out in 14 stations for 28 days in Shaanxi Province, the whole distance was 72 kilometers.
The torch is named "flag", and its design is inspired by Shandandan flowers. It adopts the form of paper-cut in northern Shaanxi and is artistically processed, which means Shandandan flowers are red and beautiful. Two emblems are printed on the front of the torch at the same time, which means "the two national games are equally wonderful."
Two-time Olympic champion Qin Kai As the first torchbearer, he raised the torch and strode forward to start a run of about 50 meters.
"I am particularly proud to complete the first torch relay in my hometown. Xi'an has changed rapidly in recent years. I feel different every time I come back. I hope this year's 14th National Games will be held wonderfully and smoothly." Said Qin Kai, who is still studying in Beijing.
Disabled torchbearer Yao Wei said that the "two fires in one" torch relay allows disabled and able-bodied people to join hands to cheer for the National Games and the Paralympic Games. I believe that this sports event will be held. Encourage people with disabilities to go out of their homes and into large families in society.
It is understood that the 100 torchbearers who participated in the first torch relay came from all walks of life in Xi'an, including police, firefighters, teachers, doctors, nurses, cleaners, taxi drivers, couriers, etc. The end point is at Daming Palace National Heritage Park Danfengmen Square, the whole journey is about 5.3 kilometers.
The next leg of the torch relay will be held in Weinan, Shaanxi on the morning of the 18th, and the main torch tower will be lit at the opening ceremony of the 14th National Games on September 15 and the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on October 22, respectively.
