The crew members on board, chief scientist and scientific expedition team members said that in the next task execution process, they will continue to carry forward the "Oriental Red" spirit of "not fearing hardships and daring to be the first", and work tirelessly to accelerate the construction of the motherland's maritime power and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as soon as possible. It is understood that the "Oriental Red 3" ship set sail from Qingdao on the morning of August 6. So far, it has been performing scientific inspection missions for shared voyages in relevant waters in my country. A total of 97 scientific research personnel from more than ten domestic marine-related research institutes including Ocean University of China, Fudan University , Southern University of Science and Technology, Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Nanhai Oceanography. On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of New China, the total mileage of this voyage will reach 7,300 nautical miles. Since its delivery at the end of May 2019, the "Oriental Red 3" ship has carried out nearly 20 scientific expeditions and nearly 100 scientific expedition tasks. It has sailed for more than 700 days and has a range of nearly 90,000 nautical miles, playing an irreplaceable role in my country's marine scientific research and the cultivation of high-end marine talents.
