Recently, the 2020 Filez London Award award ceremony was held.

In 2020, Xue Qikun, then the vice president of Tsinghua University, won this internationally recognized highest award in the field of low-temperature physics for discovering the quantum anomalous Hall effect in experiments. Due to the epidemic, the award ceremony has been postponed to August 18-24 this year.

Xue Qikun, president of Southern University of Science and Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the award and was invited to give a special report at the meeting. It is reported that Xue Qikun is the first Chinese scientist to receive this honor since the award was established in 1957, and the second scientist from Asia.

The three winners, Professor Xue Qikun, Professor Vinokur from Argonne National Laboratory in the United States, and Professor Steglich from the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Chemical Physics in Germany, attended the award ceremony online and offline respectively on the 18th.
