In January this year, the National Health Commission issued the "14th Five-Year Plan" National Eye Health (2021-2025)". Among them, fundus disease and its chronic diseases are positioned as the focus of attention in the next five years. In my country, the total number of patients with fundus disease exceeds 40 million. Fundus disease is the first irreversible blinding eye disease, and this disease is very low in China's awareness and standardized treatment rate. To change this situation, the National Center for Clinical Medical Research on Eye Diseases and Beijing Bethune Charity Foundation jointly launched the "Light Center" project, focusing on standardized diagnosis and treatment of fundus diseases and promoting the realization of universal fundus health in my country.
