中超 kicked off on the 25th, but China’s 4th tier league "Championship" tournament has already started. The first phase of the provincial tournament was held at the end of May and early June. The popularity of a team in the Qinghai Division has aroused concern. The Qinghai Oulu International, which was just established last year, won 7 games. lost only 1 goal with 75 goals, averaging 10+ goals per game. Has played three incredible scores of 12 to 0, 17 to 1, 29 to 0.

Asian Football Net: Why did you come to China to coach?
Rinaldi: A friend of mine came to work in China before, and a few months later he could not adapt to returning to China. His experience provided me with a lot of reference. I first coached a youth team in Beijing with a group of 13-year-olds. The working environment is very good, training 5-6 hours a day. After only six months of training, he won sixth place in a national championship and then 14th out of 60 teams in another international tournament. We have a lot of opportunities to go abroad and play games. I remember playing against Juventus teams of the same age. We have complete control of the game. I was surprised. My little players can always beat kids 3 or 4 years older than them.
A few months later, a representative from Qinghai (Oulu International) approached me and asked me to coach the professional team. They recognized my work style and philosophy. During several meetings, I analyzed the missing points in their overall plan and explained how to achieve the goal. A few days after arriving in Qinghai, I met provincial officials. They are very honest and pragmatic, which I appreciate.

What is it like working in a world completely different from Europe?
I set out with fear, and I also questioned why I came to China. However, I have to admit that I have had a great time in China, it's not all a matter of money, I can get professional satisfaction. I try to understand the Chinese people’s psychology, behavior habits and logic as much as possible. I often go to the middle of the field to chat with my players and ask them what they are thinking, how they feel about football and things in life. A foreign coach must do this. .
How do you see the level of football in China's low-level leagues?
There are many areas to work hard to improve! The players are hardworking, run a lot, and have excellent physical conditions, but that's all. There is nothing else to praise, but I'm here to help them improve. Generally speaking, I am not surprised by the level of players in the fourth division, and I am mentally prepared.
How would you rate China’s efforts in football in recent years? Can they achieve results and win trophies in the future?
Of course. The scale of China's football reform is huge. You can see a school with 5 to 6000 people every 500 meters. It is impossible not to find 11 people to form a high-level national team.. China used to be famous in the world for its golden dollar football, but now, it is necessary to focus on the children, otherwise, the national team will be a group of players with an average age of 30+ and mediocre talents! There is indeed room for improvement in Chinese football at the moment, but there is no need to exaggerate, and there is no need to introduce so many foreign players at once.
