When we are doing monitoring projects, we often encounter network-free video during debugging. First, let’s troubleshoot the network problem.

Log in to Video recorder main menu interface—Select channel management—Enter the IP channel interface, click the triangle exclamation point with the left mouse button to obtain the error message.

1. Network unreachable

If the error occurs is "network unreachable", you can check it according to the following reasons:

Reason 1: The IP addresses of the recorder and the camera are not in the same network segment.

fixed the IP address of the recorder (as shown in the figure below), and modify the IP of the recorder and the camera to different IPs of the same network segment, and re-defined the camera.

Reason 2: The transmission between the recorder and the camera is not connected.

Check network cables and switches and networking equipment to ensure the smooth network, replace the network cable\net port, and use the network cable to directly connect the recorder to test; check whether the camera is working normally.

Reason 3: The recorder is a POE recorder. The POE camera is connected to the POE network port. You need to click and edit the channel with a yellow exclamation mark in the channel management - manually change it to plug and play.

2. User is locked\Username or password error\Unknown error

If the error occurs is "User is locked\Username or password error\Unknown error", check according to the camera type:

Hikvision camera

①Delete the wrong channel and power off the camera and restart it for 3-5 minutes.

② Click [Custom Add] in the IP channel interface, manually enter the camera's IP address, username, and password, and click [Add].

(If there is still an exception, please confirm whether the camera password is incorrect. If you forget, you need to reset the camera password.)

If the device is a video recorder with a model ending in /P or /N, the channel cannot be deleted, and the channel is locked. You can handle it according to the following methods:

① Plug and play mode. The user name and password of the camera must be the same as the video recorder. If it is inconsistent, it needs to be modified to a consistent password before accessing.

②If the password is the same and it is still abnormal after re-connection, it is recommended that the computer IE access the camera and restore the camera completely to the factory before re-connecting.

Third-party manufacturer camera

① Check the channel that prompts the error and click [Delete];

② Consult the third-party manufacturer to confirm whether the camera supports the Onvif protocol, and Onvif manages the port number and the camera user name and password (cannot be empty). Confirm the port, username, and password (if the camera has no password, please set the camera's password to 12345);

③ Click [Custom Add] on the IP channel interface to enter the parameters of the camera to add. As shown in the figure below:
