November 22, "Denver Post" reporter Mike Singer wrote an article today reporting the behind-the-scenes details of free agent Jeremy Grant's decision to leave the Nuggets to join the Pistons.
According to sources, for Grant, the temptation to play a more important team role has largely influenced his decision.
Last season, Grant spent most of the time as a substitute role after Paul Millsap. According to sources, in Grant's view, although the team has achieved success, he believes that it is his own sacrifice.
In the Nuggets' recruitment of Grant, they told Grant that he will improve his growth as a player. However, Grant has always retained his interest in joining the Pistons. His long-term relationship with the new Pistons executive Troy Weaver also played a big role.
According to previous reports, Grant joined the Pistons with a three-year $60 million contract; subsequently, the Nuggets and Millsap reached a one-year $10 million contract extension.
