★ "The War of Z1z Anna Z2z" is a work of Russian director Alexei Fedorchenko in 2018. It is a war theme. The work is not long, only more than 70 minutes. It can be said to be a one-man show. Basically there is a protagonist in the scene, and there are almost no lines. There is also no support for the cruel plot. Although I can’t say how superb the protagonist’s acting skills are, people do rely on acting skills to feed themselves. This alone is enough to turn many first-line actors into dung, especially those high-paying actors who earn a high amount of brain damage from their faces—— If they can be ashamed to call themselves actors. However, Mr. Chopsticks will not talk about acting today, let's talk about movies. Z3z
When Mr. Chopsticks first watched this movie, he thought it was a thrilling large-scale display. Unexpectedly, the movie story was so simple that he was outrageous. The film tells the story of how the little girl Anna survived the Nazis alone after she escaped the Nazi genocide. The main scene is very simple, that is, in a house, the line of sight spreads outward from this, but it is only tens of meters. The farthest point is an attic above the house, which is like an escape from a room.
But the director will tell us later that making a movie is not for disappointment and vomiting. From the beginning of the massacre for the rest of my life, the film silently captured our pity for the weak, allowing us to interpret the storm of extremism together with Anna, who in fact represents the common destiny of the group, in such a minimal and minimalist situation. The proposition of people struggling to survive-this is by no means limited to the proposition of World War II. In events such as the Rwanda massacre and , it is still the focus of justice.
Anna's war is almost silent, Mr. Chopsticks thinks that it can be simply felt from three aspects.
First of all, Anna wants to resist hunger and death. In order to survive, she steals the water in the flowerpot every night, grabs food from the rat traps and eats the rats, and eats poisonous rat food, almost entirely by enduring fluke. Survive. In the most hungry moment, she even ran to the attic to trap the pigeons and pluck a live pigeon from its feathers. This is a duel between humanity and animality under extreme conditions. From the result point of view, the primitive human desire to survive has overcome the human civilization that has evolved and upgraded since Ru Mao drank blood.
But don't worry, Anna will not become a dehumanized person because of this. The director has the responsibility and obligation to maintain her "positive image to the audience". He arranged a stage of self-salvation, which I will talk about later.
Secondly, Anna must resist the fragmentation of herself.
In Anna's eyes, the world at that time was shattered. The film is expressed through a recurring lens, the cracked mirror that Anna hiding in the fireplace uses to observe the external situation. In that repressive space, she must resist the damage to her from the broken world without any hope for the time being. She needs to maintain a precarious integrity to prevent herself from collapsing with the wind like a riddled building. Mr. Z3z
Chopsticks observed that the movie gave Anna a lot of pictures of huddling in hiding places. These pictures gave us Anna's expression of survival perhaps unconsciously: Silence and curling up are her only weapons that can resist fragmentation and despair. She enclosed herself in the body that she believed to be safe, keeping the final liveliness and warmth.
Next, Anna has to fight against the enemies she hates. Of course, we can say that the whole film is a metaphor for this proposition, but as a story conflict, the film is expressed through her struggle with the Nazi soldiers. Just hiding for success is obviously not the pattern the director wants to show. The director needs to use this symbolic struggle to complete a contest between the smallest individual and the grand war. At the same time, as I just mentioned, the director needs to let Anna repair and maintain her human condition in terms of character creation. In addition, the hope and the joy of victory generated by this active struggle will form a paradoxical suspense with a certain despair at the end of the film, and cause people to think more.
Anna met a rogue cat in her hiding place, became friends with it, shared the pitiful food together, and repaired the human nature hurt by the original desire to survive. But in order to avoid being spotted by military dogs, she had to throw the cat out to fake an illusion that the indoor existence was a cat, and let the cat bear it.Terrible risk. After the cat was bitten to death by a military dog, the love and justice sentiment made Anna actively attack the evil forces represented by the Nazi military dog, and poisoned the dog with food soaked in poison (the soldiers who managed it were therefore His chief was shot on the spot. People are not as good as dogs. Think about it, it’s not bad to be an overtime dog now).
In the presentation of the story, the three aspects mentioned above are Anna's war, and of course it is also the war of all the humble people in the war. For those involved, the war is far from over, the slaughter continues to advance as planned, and death still rules the Jewish world. The director did not arrange a happy ending for us. Anna's hope of escape from the danger of death was dashed, and more military dogs suppressed her in that small place. The director is very bad. He doesn't want to leave us any hints. None of us knows Anna's final fate. The only thing we can know is that Anna is still fighting alone after the dark scenes in the movie. The plot setting of
in this one-man show is really not so tense, but its narrative rhythm is not soothing at all, and the close-up shots from the beginning grab us tightly. What Anna is going to do, what she is going to do next, what will she do next, this kind of perplexing hidden tension spontaneously pushes us to experience a segment of her life with little Anna. Mr. Chopsticks was drinking stout beer and watching it on the sofa, three cans down, no urine during the whole process.
Tips: During World War II, about 6 million Jews were massacred, of which about 1.5 million children, including those with disabilities in shelters. The cause of the massacre did not disappear because of the collapse of the Third Reich. It wanders around the world like a ghost, constantly setting off rounds of atrocities. Perhaps during the time we slapped and brushed the circle of friends, Annas with different skin colors were experiencing their own war in a certain corner.
