- Recalling Wu Ruilin General

Wei Tradition Peng Xuyi Zhouyou

He left, carrying 13 scars left in the smoke, and the triumph of life; he left, sprinkling the rolling blood on the land of China, irrigating the flowers blooming in the spring breeze of the people, and left. He is the loyal son of an extremely poor farmer in Northeast Sichuan . He is an outstanding Communist Party member who has fought for the Chinese revolutionary cause for 68 spring and autumn , Comrade Wu Ruilin, a senior military commander of the People's Army and the former deputy commander of the Navy.

When China's revolutionary cause was at a low ebb in 1927, Comrade Wu Ruilin got acquainted with Comrade Lu Ziqian, an underground worker of the party, and Comrade Qi Yingyuan, another secretary. With the help and education of these two people, he honorably joined the China Communist Youth League, and soon became a member of the Communist Party of China. From then on, he embarked on the road of fighting for the cause of communism, and was determined to fight to the end. From 1927 to 1932, he worked as a professional underground traffic officer of the Party. He was ordered to open up underground work in Tong (Jiang), Nan (Jiang), and Bazhong (Zhong), and established the Bazhong Central County Committee of the Communist Party of China, headed by Comrades Lu Ziqian, Qi Yingyuan, and Wu Ruilin. In compliance with the party's instructions, he not only established more than a dozen branches in various places in Tongnanba to develop party members, but also carried out extensive military and agricultural movement work. Because of Wu Ruilin's loyalty to the party and outstanding achievements in his work, he participated in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee Representative Conference and the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Representative Conference twice. At the meeting, he listened to the reports and speeches of leading comrades such as Xu Xiangqian, Chen Changhao, Li Xiannian, Zeng Chuanliu, and Yuan Keke.

At the meeting, he was elected Minister of Youth Industry, and successively served as Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Young Communist Party, Minister of Organization of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of the Political Department of the Fourth Red Army.

Comrade Wu Ruilin, as a professional underground worker of the party, when the Fourth Front Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army entered Sichuan in October 1932, led by Commander-in-Chief Xu Xiangqian and Political Commissar Chen Changhao, he was appointed by the party and was the first to greet the troops of the Red Army entering Sichuan. At Lianghekou, he met Kuang Jixun, the leading division commander of the Fourth Red Front Army, and Comrade Gan Yuanjing, the political commissar, and together with them, they captured Tongjiang County and wiped out 50 enemies. Remain. In Tongjiang County, Comrade Wu Ruilin met the commander-in-chief Comrade Xu Xiangqian and political commissar Chen Luhao for the first time, and made a detailed report to the two leaders. Chiefs Xu and Chen were very happy after hearing this and said:

"The situation you discussed and the situation reported to the Chief of Staff Zeng Zhongsheng is very useful. He is very familiar with the situation. In the future, you will mobilize more people to join the Red Army in Bazhong. The future expansion of the Red Army will depend on you."

Comrade Wu Ruilin lived up to the expectations of Mr. Xu. Within 3 days, he formed a company of more than 100 people and was appointed as the company commander; within 10 days, it expanded to more than 500 people, formed a battalion, and was appointed as the battalion commander; within 20 days, the number expanded to more than 1,700 people. Qiu Yuansheng was appointed as the regiment commander, and Comrade Wu Ruilin was appointed as the regiment political commissar. In addition to doing a good job in ideological and political work, he also actively took the lead in military training and was praised by comrades as a shooter with "one shot".

In February 1933, the Sichuan Army launched a two-pronged siege against the Fourth Red Army that had just entered Sichuan. One day, Comrade Wu Ruilin was ordered to come to the headquarters. Comrade Wang Shusheng, deputy commander-in-chief, said: "In order to crush the enemy's three-way siege, the headquarters decided that your Young Communist Regiment will also join the battle and go to Kongshanba to take over the defensive position of Sun Yuqing Regiment. We will set off immediately. In addition, we will replenish some ammunition for your regiment." After accepting the mission, Comrade Wu Ruilin rushed back to the unit without stopping and quickly made all pre-war preparations. During more than 3 days of defensive battles, we repelled more than 20 enemy attacks, defended our position, killed and wounded hundreds of enemies, captured more than 300 enemies, captured alive 135 enemy officers below the deputy regimental commander, surrendered nearly 600 long and short guns, and two machine guns , while I only injured more than 140 people. As a newly formed team, Comrade Wu Ruilin, the commander who participated in actual combat for the first time, although he was injured in this battle, he showed his heroic fighting spirit. For the first time, he showed his military commanding ability.

In the battle of Yi (Long) South (Part), Comrade Wu Ruilin proposed a complete set of combat methods to Commander He Wei (who later rebelled) and Commander Xu Shiyou, and was approved by Commander-in-Chief Xu. Together with Zhang Erxin, political commissar of the headquarters pistol battalion, he formed a capable team, penetrated into the heart of the enemy-controlled area, occupied strongholds, carried out mobile attacks, captured alive the first day of the important stronghold, and captured the evil gentry in the factory. Not only did they achieve a great military victory, they also gathered a large amount of supplies. In this regard, Commander-in-Chief Xu Xiangqian once gave a high evaluation to Yizi, believing that it was a model of combining outsmarting and frontal attack, and achieved the expected strategic purpose.

The Red Army led by Mr. Xu gradually expanded in Sichuan. It can be said that the troops are strong and strong. The Sichuan warlord leader Yang Sen was frightened by the power of the Red Army and sent people to negotiate with the Red Army. Commander-in-Chief Xu decided to send Fu Zhong, Shu Yuzhang, and Wu Ruilin as negotiators.

Subsequently, he participated in the Xuanda Campaign, interspersed with battles, until he was appointed as the main person in charge of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Guerrilla Army together with Comrade Wang Weizhou. He made great contributions from the military to the local area, and from the local area to the military, and was highly praised by the headquarters many times. When Comrade Wu Ruilin bid farewell to his homeland and the guerrilla army where he had fought for a long time, crossed the grassland twice, crossed the snow-capped mountains twice, and arrived in northern Shaanxi, his old leader Comrade Zhou Chunquan repeatedly said: "Comrade Ruilin is a man who has made great contributions to the growth of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Red Army and the party's underground work." Mr. Xu also praised Secretary Wu as a capable person.

When the "July 7" Incident started and the anti-Japanese war broke out across the country, Comrade Wu Ruilin quickly rushed to the front line of the Anti-Japanese War in Qilu to carry out guerrilla warfare and severely attack the Japanese invaders. He successively served as commander of the first and second divisions of the Central Shandong Military Region, commander of the Second Shandong Garrison Brigade, political commissar of the Second Detachment of the Eighth Route Army Shandong Column, secretary of the Southeast Shandong Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, and military minister of the Taishan Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China. The strategic channel from north to central Shandong and southeastern Shandong; he led his troops to smash several major "mopping up" by the enemy and defended the base areas of Yishan, Lushan, and Mengshan; he commanded the battles of Zichuan, Boshan, Yangjiaheng, Laidong, Mengyin, and Yicheng, annihilating a large number of enemy and puppet reactionary forces, and made great contributions to the final victory of the Hangzhou-Japanese War.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he went to the Northeast on the order of the Party Central Committee and served successively as the commander of the Anton Column of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army, the commander of the Andong Provincial Military Region, the Chief of Staff of the Southeast Manchu Military Region, a member of the Standing Committee of the Southeast Manchu Bureau of the Communist Party of China, the commander of the Liaonan Military Region, the deputy commander of the fifth column of the Northeast Field Army, and the commander of the 42nd Army. In the famous Battle of Liaoshen, he commanded troops to block the enemies of Yuanjin in Zhangwu, Xiushuihezi and other places, surrounded and annihilated the Liao Yaoxiang Corps, captured alive the commander of the New Fifth Army, the deputy commander of the New First Army and other senior generals, and annihilated more than 17,000 enemies. Later, he marched into the pass and participated in the Battle of Pingjin. With his steady and rapid command skills, he captured Nankou and Changping, broke through Hongshan Pass, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, and detoured back to New Beijing, interspersed with the occupation of Fengtai, and captured more than a hundred enemy tanks. He blocked the enemy's escape route south, and together with his brother troops, completed the encirclement of the enemy in Peiping.

In April 1949, he sent his troops south to command the Battle of Xinxiang in Anyang and won a great victory. He continued to advance south and commanded the Battle of Enshi. He also cooperated with Erye to liberate northeastern Sichuan and annihilate the enemy. Luo Guangwen's Corps and Sun Zhen's Corps quickly captured Changyuan, seized Yangping Pass, launched a fierce frontal attack on the enemy, wiped out the elite of Hu Zongnan, and successfully joined forces with the Eighteenth Corps at Yangping Pass. Chief Liu Denghe of the second field gave high praise and commendation. Comrade Wu Ruilin fought from the Baishan Blackwater Liaohe River to Yangping Pass in the southwest, and made outstanding contributions to the liberation cause of the Chinese people.

When war broke out on the Korean Peninsula in 1955, he fought for the just cause of mankind. Under the leadership of Mr. Peng, he was one of the first four army commanders to enter the DPRK and rushed to the front line.He led the 42nd Army in the first battle at Huangcaoling on the eastern battlefield, blocking the advance of the South Korean Capital Division and the U.S. 1st Marine Division. He coordinated the siege and annihilation of our 38th Army, 39th Army, and 40th Army on the Western Front. He blocked the enemy for 13 days and annihilated 300 enemies. The remainder ensured the mission of encirclement and annihilation of the enemy on the Western Front. There is another thing that is still little known, that is, before the entire army was dispatched, he expected that it would be difficult to reach the blocking area, so the general sent a cavalry group of more than 300 people to the North Korea in advance and rushed directly to Guli, rushing into the enemy group with great speed. The enemy was killed until they didn't know where they were coming from, and then retreated quickly. As a result, the South Korean and American troops were at a loss and stopped their northward advance.

At this moment, Comrade Wu Ruilin ordered Xiao Jianfei, deputy commander of the 124th Division, to lead two battalions of the 370th Regiment to Huangcaoling by car, and immediately built field fortifications. Before the soldiers wiped off their sweat, at about 9 o'clock in the morning on October 24, the South Korean Army's 1st Division arrived in a swagger. Our army suddenly opened fire violently. Hundreds of enemies fell in front of the position and retreated obediently. It was not until about 3 o'clock in the afternoon that the enemy organized an attack on our position. People familiar with the matter said that if it had not been for Wu Ruilin's divine calculation, if the cavalry raid in Guli had not been carried out, and if Xiao Jianfei had not led two battalions by car to Huangcaoling to stop the attack, the troops of the U.S. Tenth Army would have invaded north to the Jiangjie area and would have been close to the Eighth Group Army commanded by Walker. It would have been difficult for the three armies on the western front to encircle and suppress the enemy. Comrade Wu Ruilin is well deserved to be called a famous general. After the first battle, he was commended by Boss Peng.

In the second battle, he was transferred to the Western Front. He launched a fierce offensive and captured Ningyuan and Mengshan. Destroyed the Eighth Division of the South Korean Army. They forcibly crossed the Qingchuan River and organized a capable guerrilla force to join the People's Army in Hicang County. In the three battles, he was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Left Army. He commanded the troops of the 42nd Army, the 66th Army and the People's Army to attack and advance towards the 38th parallel. He cleverly conquered the dangerous roads and city rises, captured Gapyeong, Chuncheon, Hongcheon and Hengcheng. In southern Korea, he annihilated the 5th and 8th Divisions of the South Korean Army and part of the 2nd Division of the US Army, and captured important military leaders of South Korea and the US. After he successfully completed the mission of the five major battles of the Communist Party of China, he was the first to lead the troops to discover that the United States and South Korea had launched germ warfare against our volunteer army, setting off a climax of anti-bacterial warfare. Mr. Peng praised Comrade Wu Ruilin for his good fighting style and carefulness in everything. At that time, Premier Zhou Enlai also spoke highly of Comrade Wu Ruilin. In North Korea, he was twice awarded the First Class National Flag Medal of the Republic.

When he returned to the country on rotation in October 1952, Prime Minister Kim Il Sung repeatedly persuaded him to stay. With the approval of Mr. Peng, he stayed alone in Pyongyang for more than a month, working with Prime Minister Kim Il Sung to study the construction of the People's Army and the summary of combat experience. Before leaving, Kim Il Sung personally hosted a banquet to see him off.

Comrade Wu Ruilin's outstanding achievements on the Korean battlefield are still widely circulated in the Western world. In the 1990s, a Chinese student studying at a famous military school in the Western world was asked one day by a senior instructor at the school with a two-star general level: "Do you know General Wu Ruilin of the Communist Party of China?" He stared at the Chinese military student for a long time and had to walk away slowly. Later, when the Chinese student returned to China after completing his studies, the senior instructor summoned the student again and said to him: "Wu Ruilin is a great general. I admire him very much. After you return to China, you should learn from him in terms of tactics and strategy." Then he revealed his true feelings. He was interrogated by General Wu and served as a prisoner of General Wu. Yes, Comrade Wu Ruilin, who was promoted to lieutenant general in 1955, is a true general, a famous general who has won widespread praise.

In the spring of 1953, he bid farewell to North Korea and returned to China. He was appointed commander of Hainan and worked hard for border defense construction. He later served as commander of the South China Sea Fleet and deputy commander of the Guangzhou Force. In his new combat position, he studied diligently and continuously improved his command art. He effectively commanded the "August 6th" naval battle in 1965 that shocked China and foreign countries, and the glorious victory of sinking the Kuomintang's "Jianmen" and "Zhangjiang" ships. He was later transferred to the position of deputy commander of the Navy and deputy secretary of the Navy Party Committee, and made outstanding contributions to the modernization of the People's Navy.

In the summer of 1995, Comrade Wu Ruilin bid farewell to us forever. We felt painfully that we had lost a good teacher and friend. The people have lost a rare general.

However, his close contact with the masses and vigorous and resolute work and fighting style will always be our role model; he is not afraid of all evil forces, glares angrily, and denounces traitors, which is a true example of fighting for the cause of communism; he has experienced hundreds of battles in his life, and has made great achievements, and will shine in the annals of history.
