Singapore is the only sovereign country in the world that is dominated by Chinese. As of August 2021, Chinese account for 74% of Singapore's total population, and its leaders are mostly Chinese. It can be said that it is another "China" overseas. However, since its independence and founding, Singapore's attitude towards our country has changed several times, and many political interests are mixed in it. We cannot take it for granted that Singapore, which is dominated by Chinese, will follow China's footsteps in everything.

Although Singapore is located at a strategic point connecting the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, it still has natural geographical defects, and has insufficient land area and limited resources. Singapore is an island with an area of only about 600 square kilometers. Singapore left Malaysia on August 9, 1965 and became a sovereign, democratic and independent country. In September of the same year, he became a member of the United Nations and joined the Commonwealth in October of the same year. On December 22 of the same year, Singapore became the Republic and Isaac became the first president. After Singapore's independence, it did not choose to establish formal diplomatic relations with the New China, nor did it establish the so-called "diplomatic relations" with the Taiwan authorities.
At the beginning of independence, Singapore and Taiwan had a particularly close relationship. Not only because the two have similar language and cultural backgrounds, but also because Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew also has a close relationship with Taiwan. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1965, Singapore urgently needed to establish an independent defensive force. Since Singapore's land area is small, there is no training ground, and there is no training experience and training, it is eager to get help from the outside world, but for various reasons, few countries are willing to provide help to it. At this time, in order to get rid of the international isolation, the Taiwan authorities are willing to provide military assistance to Singapore in order to obtain Singapore's diplomatic recognition. The two sides began military cooperation in 1967, and this cooperation continues to this day. Taiwan has since become Singapore's largest military training base . The Taiwanese authorities only charge materials for Singapore's military consumption, and do not charge any other penny.

Although the military training relationship between Singapore and Taiwan still exists and continues to this day after establishing diplomatic relations with the mainland, of course it exists in public. There was even an accident suspected to have occurred in 2021 when Singapore's "Starlight Force" parachuting training camp in Taiwan. Unlike other countries, after Singapore established diplomatic relations with New China, its relations with Taiwan were limited to economic, cultural, academic and humanitarian aid.
