htmlOn the afternoon of October 5, three suspected
dinosaur egg fossils were dug out at Duxi construction site in Guanshan Village, Luoping Town, Wuning County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. Most of the fossils were exposed, partly damaged and falling off the shell, and the other two were partially exposed, well preserved. There were several impressions on the three eggs, but no falling egg fossils were found on the site. At present, the three fossils have been handed over to the Wuning County Museum for collection and preservation and further research and verification.

htmlOn October 6, a reporter from the General Office contacted many experts from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and from many universities of China. After research by many fossil experts, it was initially judged that the fossils of dinosaur eggs discovered in Wuning, Jiangxi were buried in the late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. The egg body is complete and oval, the eggshell is clearly preserved and very thick. It is initially judged that it may be a stalagmites egg, but its age and specific classification require further field work and sheet identification before it can be finally confirmed. According to current research and discovery, it can be seen that the distribution range of the Mesozoic red layer in Jiangxi is very wide, and the
Danxia landform was formed in many places. These red layers reflected the drought and hot climate conditions of
South China in my country at that time.
Expert introduction: In previous research, dinosaur egg fossils were found in the Xinfeng Basin of Ganzhou in southern Jiangxi and the Mesozoic red layer of Yudu , Pingxiang and other places, but no traces of dinosaur fossils were found in northern Jiangxi. This study fills the gap in the absence of dinosaur fossils in northern Jiangxi, and is of great significance to studying the paleoclimate in the northern Jiangxi region of the late Cretaceous Jiangxi, the distribution state and habitat methods of dinosaurs.
