html On September 22, the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains Weinan City held a wild red-crowned crane release event. A total of 22 red-crowned cranes were released in the wild, and individuals were released from Qinling Giant Panda Research Center and Shaanxi Hanzhong Red-crowned cranes National Nature Reserve Administration. The red-crowned crane is under 15 years old, and the kinship relationship between is far away, and the ratio of male and female is reasonable. All red-crowned cranes wear colored plastic rings for easy individual identification. 8 red-crowned cranes wear a back-loaded Beidou satellite tracker and 10 red-crowned cranes wear ankle-type GSM mobile signal tracker for monitoring the range of movement and survival status of red-crowned cranes.

The wetlands in this release area have superior climate and natural conditions, and complete patrol and monitoring equipment, which is conducive to the survival and reproduction of red-crowned cranes in the wild. The Forestry Bureau of Linwei District, Weinan City will equip 37 professional and technical personnel to undertake supervision and protection tasks, and monitor the changes in the range of activities, health status of the red-crowned crane, breeding ground, foraging ground and overnight staying ground from time to time.

It is reported that since Shaanxi first released the red-crowned crane in Ankang Ningshan in May 2007, it has successively established four wild-crowned crane populations in Yaozhou, Tongchuan, Qianyang, Baoji, Zhouzhi, Xi'an, and Huayin, Weinan. The release work has achieved significant results and greatly expanded the range of the red-crowned crane habitat. (Reporter Shen Dongxin)
