The loon is the provincial bird of Ontario. It mainly inhabits freshwater lakes and ponds. Its black head, black and white checkered back, and red-flaming eyes leave a deep impression on people. Loons are "little experts" at fishing. They will sink to the bottom of the water when encountering danger. They are quite alert and intelligent.

The high-pitched call of the loon is one of the most hypnotic, mysterious and beautiful sounds in nature. Its echo echoes on the lake, just like serenading , beautiful and beautiful. Every year, biologists at Algonquin Provincial Park hear questions from visitors: "Why do the moose here have bald heads?" According to the investigation, this hair loss is caused by an infestation of blood-sucking ticks, which makes the moose so itchy that it needs to constantly lick and groom its hair, causing a large amount of hair loss.

Wild wolf

Wild Wolf

In Ontario, wild wolves are the most One of the most talked about wild animals. In the past, Ontario's wolf population was divided into two main categories: northern gray wolves and southern eastern wolves. With changes in the natural climate and environment, western coyotes gradually migrated eastward, merged with wolves in southern Ontario, and gradually evolved into the current diverse wolf pack.

Haliburton Forest is a gathering place for wild wolves in Ontario. You can get up close and personal with wolves at the Wild Wolf Center in the forest, and observe wolves roaming in the forest through field infrared cameras. At night in the summer, follow a guide on a night wolf-calling hike to imitate the howling of wolves. If you are lucky, you can hear the wolves howling in response, which is quite thrilling.

Wolf-calling tours have been offered in Algonquin Provincial Park since 1963. On summer nights, the park's biologists lead a team to walk to designated locations and imitate wolf howls to encourage the wolves to respond. More than 150,000 visitors have listened to the "harmony" of the wolves here.
