  1. Infection surveillance data

  (1) National reporting population New coronavirus nucleic acid test results. After December 8, 2022, the country (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the same below) will no longer carry out nucleic acid screening for all employees, and will implement all-voluntary testing. At the same time, some regions will carry out regular nucleic acid testing for key groups. Each province uses the existing nucleic acid testing information system to grasp nucleic acid testing data in real time. Affected by residents' willingness to test, the number of nucleic acid tests in various provinces has continued to decrease. For example, the number of tests was 150 million on December 9, dropped to 7.54 million on January 1, 2023, and dropped to a minimum of 280,000 on January 23.

Since December 9, 2022, the number of positive nucleic acid tests and the positive rate of the population reported in each province have first increased and then decreased. The number of positive people on December 2 It reached a peak on the 2nd (6.94 million) and then gradually declined, reaching a minimum of 15,000 on January 23, 2023; the test positivity rate peaked on December 25 (29.2%) and then gradually declined, falling to 5.5% on January 23 (Figure 1-1).

4. Local cases of new coronavirus infection Virus mutation monitoring situation

my country continues to carry out new coronavirus mutation monitoring. After December 2022, some sentinel hospitals in each province will be selected to carry out outpatient (emergency) cases, severe cases, death cases and some special groups virus mutation monitoring. At the same time, monitoring of virus mutations among people arriving at land, water and air ports will be carried out. Monitoring results show that the prevalent strains of this round of epidemic are BA.5.2 and BF.7, and no new mutant strains have been found.

  (1) Overall situation. From September 26, 2022 to January 23, 2023, a total of 18,906 effective novel coronavirus genome sequences of local cases were reported across the country, all of which were Omicron mutant strains, with 69 evolutionary branches. The main prevalent strains are BA.5.2 (70.8%) and BF.7 (23.4%). The composition ratio of 13 evolutionary branches including BA.2.76 is between 0.1% and 1.3%, and the composition ratio of 54 evolutionary branches is less than 0.1% (accounting for 1.1% in total) (Figure 4-1).

Figure 5-2 First dose vaccination and full basic immunity coverage among the entire population by month

(Data comes from reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps)

According to data from a recent special survey on the elderly, vaccination coverage for the elderly over 60 years old accounts for 96% of the elderly population. The number of people who received full vaccination and the first dose of booster vaccination accounted for 96% and 92% of the elderly population who met the vaccination time interval respectively (Figure 5-3).

Figure 5-3 New coronavirus vaccination rate of people over 60 years old based on the basic population

(Data comes from 31 provinces ( District, city) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps report)

Note: 1. The numerator of the first dose vaccination rate calculation is the population who have received at least 1 dose of the new coronavirus vaccine that is currently conditionally marketed or for emergency use, and the denominator is the number of people in the recent special survey of the elderly.

2. The numerator of the full vaccination rate calculation is the elderly population who have received 2 doses of inactivated vaccine, 1 dose of adenovirus vector vaccine, and 3 doses of recombinant protein vaccine. The denominator is the population who have received 1 dose of inactivated vaccine, 1 dose of adenovirus vector vaccine, and 2 doses of recombinant protein vaccine, and the interval after vaccination is 28 days (4 weeks).

3. The numerator for calculating the first dose booster vaccination rate is the elderly who have completed the first dose of booster vaccination, and the denominator is the population who have received 2 doses of inactivated vaccine and 1 dose of adenovirus vector vaccine, and the interval between full vaccinations is 3 months. (Due to the short period of time for booster vaccination with recombinant protein vaccines, people who have received 3 doses of recombinant protein vaccines are currently not included in the denominator).
