The NBA recruits the world's best basketball talents into the league through the draft every year. At the same time, the NBA's draft mechanism also balances the strengths of the 30 teams very well, allowing weak teams to enhance their strength by obtaining high-ranking draft picks. This ensures that every team in the league has the opportunity for healthy development. Although the NBA has evolved a very scientific and reasonable draft mechanism, scouts are human beings, and there are always times when they make mistakes. Some teams use high-ranking draft picks to select a group of parallel imports, and eventually become the weakest teams in the league for several consecutive years. However, some teams have a keen eye for talents, and receive unexpected blessings in the draft, picking up diamonds in the rough. There are five teams in the league. They originally wanted to select assistants like " Pippen ", but in the end they got an unexpected surprise and gained a super core comparable to " Jordan ".
Fifth place: Mavericks picked up Doncic
Doncic was able to average 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game in his rookie season, which is not far behind Jordan and James at the same time. After that, Doncic evolved again, leading the Mavericks to the playoffs in his second season, and he was once ranked among the top three in the league's MVP list. After four years in the league, Doncic has put up huge numbers this season, averaging close to 33.8 points per game, 9 assists and 8.6 rebounds per game. He is aiming for the scoring title and MVP. In the future, Doncic will definitely be a historical superstar.
It can be seen that the Lone Ranger has found a treasure. Going back to the 2018 draft, although the Mavericks expressed a strong interest in Doncic, because he held the No. 5 pick, Doncic was eventually intercepted by the Hawks. Nelson made a first-round offer to the Hawks + Trae Young . Schlenke, then the general manager of the Hawks, was a manager who liked shooting guards as the core of the team. He liked Trae Young's shooting, so the deal was naturally concluded. However, looking back at this deal, the Mavericks undoubtedly made crazy money. Today's Doncic is no longer comparable to Trae Young.
Fourth place: Cavaliers get James
James has already been famous in the United States since he entered the league. As the strongest high school student of the year, he was once considered to be Pippen. A combination of Magic and Magic. Although the Cavaliers were determined to win James at the time, they did not expect James to become a top star comparable to Jordan. The Cavaliers management believed that James could become a star of Pippen's level in the future and would be satisfied. At that time, the Cavaliers' star Ricky Davis also thought that James was here to assist him. However, James is now close to the god of basketball in terms of personal achievements and influence. His arrival also allowed the Cavaliers to win the first championship in team history, and gave the NBA an epoch-making superstar who is popular around the world.
Third place: Lakers get Kobe
Yesterday was the third anniversary of Kobe’s death. The Lakers official website also tweeted to express condolences. In Kobe's career, he won a total of 5 championships, won the scoring title twice, won the regular season MVP, and also won 2 FMVPs. He was selected into the All-Star starter 18 times, 15 times in the best team, and 12 times in the best defensive team. It can be said that he is full of honors, and Mamba Mentality has influenced generations. The fact that the Lakers traded Divac for Kobe is still talked about by fans. It is estimated that Jerry West did not expect that Kobe would grow into a top ten superstar in history. For the Lakers at that time, they had already won a historical giant like O'Neal and . It was enough to just hope that Kobe could assist O'Neal like Pippen. However, Kobe's subsequent achievements and influence were obviously stronger than O'Neal. With the help of Kobe, the Lakers maintained their status as a league giant.
Second place: Spurs got Leonard
Recently, a group of Leonard's pre-draft videos have become popular on the Internet. In the video, Leonard has already shown a perfect figure during the draft training period. His wingspan is outstanding, his hands are huge, and he has the potential to become a defensive gate. However, Leonard fell all the way to the 15th pick in the draft. Obviously, his offensive ability was ignored by many scouts. Popovich is obviously more knowledgeable. He takes a fancy to Leonard's excellent defensive ability and hopes that he can become a defensive leader of the team in the future. After coming to the Spurs, Leonard grew rapidly and became the league's best defensive player. He also showed strong finishing ability on the offensive end. He defeated Duncan in the finals and became the youngest FMVP in the history of the league. If it hadn't been for 's scumbag kick that made Leonard leave the court, the Spurs would have successfully won the Warriors, and another Spurs dynasty would have been born. Although Leonard failed to stay with the Spurs in the end, the Spurs actually cultivated a unique superstar for the league. Leonard led the Raptors to win the first championship in team history in 2019. Leonard also won the FMVP again, completely joining the ranks of the league's first-line superstars.
No. 1: The Warriors got Curry
The Warriors selected Curry with the seventh pick in the 2009 draft. U.S. media analysts believe that Curry will become the "Pippen" next to Monta Ellis in the future, assisting Ellis. This baby-faced man with superb shooting skills but a thin body did not get the favor of the league at the time. Although the Warriors also saw that Curry had considerable potential, the management would not have thought at the time that this thin point guard would lead the league into the small ball era and become a superstar with four championships. With his help, the Warriors also established a dynasty and became one of the most successful teams in the league in the new century.
Obviously, the NBA is a place where miracles are born. If a player wants to be famous in this league, he not only needs talent, but also needs to polish his skills day after day. What do you have to say about this? Welcome to leave a message in the comment area!
