On December 17, Gao Wei, an emergency physician at Peking University First Hospital Miyun Hospital, posted a video on Weibo saying that once you experience symptoms such as itching on your body while infected with the new coronavirus, it is likely to be an allergy, which requires attention and emergency medical treatment if necessary.
"Recently, many friends around me have experienced allergies. One friend said that when he was just diagnosed, his body was very itchy. He thought it was caused by the dry air in winter and frequent bathing, but it was actually due to allergies." Gao Wei said, because the medicine we take contains the ingredients of anti-allergic drug to relieve runny noses, so the runny nose caused by allergies is not very obvious, but there will still be itching on the body.
On December 15, actor Xiaoshenyang said on social platforms that he was infected with the new coronavirus, "I am different from you, I am actually a sensitive person." Unlike other infected people, Xiaoshenyang showed very different symptoms after infection. He said that while others had sore throats and body aches, he actually had "face pain" and developed allergic symptoms.
Gao Wei said that he has been receiving similar feedback recently. Someone told him that a large rash suddenly appeared on his body. The cause is not yet clear. It may be that people take a variety of drugs such as antipyretics and Chinese patent medicines, and there is a reaction between the drugs, so allergic symptoms occur.
"This is a problem that may occur to many people, but is ignored." Gao Wei reminded that once you experience itching, rash, mild breathlessness, and palpitation, you must be careful that you have systemic allergic symptoms. You need to take allergy medicine or seek medical attention in time to prevent suffocation caused by throat edema due to acute allergies, which requires widespread attention.
