I believe everyone has heard the good news that the third part of "Fantastic Beasts" is scheduled to be released in the mainland.
I started preparing this article when I heard that it had been approved for introduction in the mainland, and it didn’t take long for the news to be finalized.
Regarding "Fantastic Beasts", I first waited for it to be released because of "Harry Potter". I am a long-time fan of it, and I get excited and chatter endlessly when "Harry Potter" is mentioned. Later, I wanted to continue waiting for a sequel, not just because I am an old fan.
"Fantastic Beasts" is a movie that even if you are not a "Harry Potter" person, or have never watched "Harry Potter" at all, you can easily enter this "Magic World" through this movie.
Although the scores of the first two "Fantastic Beasts" did not exceed 8 points, I feel that the various interesting stories of the "Magical World" will be difficult to surpass except for JK Rowling.
The world she created is a flesh-and-blood whole, not "only special effects" as many people say.
Let me briefly summarize the story lines of the first two parts:
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find" Them" is the first part of the "Fantastic Beasts" series. It was released in mainland China on November 25, 2016. I remember that when it was first released, there was a "Fantastic Beasts" market in Sanlitun, Beijing. I had not yet come to Beijing at that time and rushed over to join in the fun. There was no Universal Studios Resort at that time, so my imagination of the "Magic World" could only be placed in such a small market.
The story of the entire series took place in 1920. Many people call it the prequel to "Harry Potter". In New York in 1926, No-Majs' resistance to magicians reached its peak, and the anti-magic organization led by Marylou ( Samantha Morton Samantha Morton) had frequent activities. At the same time, various disasters and accidents occurred from time to time in the streets and alleys, leaving the existence of the wizarding world just a hair away from being exposed, and the entire Ministry of Magic fell into an atmosphere of unprecedented tension.
At this juncture, Newt, a magical zoologist who travels around the world to study the actions of magical animals (Eddie Redmayne Eddie Redmayne ) arrived in New York. The magical suitcase he carried contained dozens of magical animals that he rescued along the way, and his every move was under the surveillance of Tina (Katherine Waterston), a former Auror affiliated with the Ministry of Magic.
In an accident, No-Maj Jacob (played by Dan Fogler) mistakenly took Newt's suitcase and released the magical animals hidden in the box. For this reason, Newt, Tina, Jacob and Tina's sister Queenie (played by Alison Sudol) had to embark on a journey to find magical animals.
The second part of "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" was released in mainland China on November 16, 2018. After its release, many people talked about it, saying that the story of this part was boring and ended without telling anything.
This film tells the story of Newt (played by Eddie Redmayne) in the previous movie who assisted the United States Ministry of Magic to bring the evil dark wizard Grindelwald ( Johnny Depp Johnny Depp (played by Ezra Miller) was captured and brought to justice, but in the end Grindelwald escaped from imprisonment. He came to Paris, France, firstly to gather believers to start a revolution, and secondly to find Credence (played by Ezra Miller) who was also hiding here. The Obscurus parasitizing on Credence was an indispensable tool to help Grindelwald realize his ambition.
Grindelwald's escape caused an uproar in the entire magical world, and everyone was at war for a while. Dumbledore (Jude Law) secretly found Newt, hoping that he could go to Paris and find Credence first before Grindelwald. Joining Newt on a trip to Paris is No-Maj Jacob (Dan Fogler). The purpose of his trip is to find his lover Queenie (Alison Sudol) who came to Paris to join his sister Tina (Katherine Waterston) because of a quarrel.
I actually understand why the second part has a lower rating than the first part, because many viewers went there for the gimmick of the "Magic World". With the excitement of the first part, more people must want to watch the second part. Unexpectedly, the story is not told much, which makes the audience seem to be just playing with "special effects".
In fact, this is not the case. The second part should use sufficient weight to introduce the world view and character relationships of the "Fantastic Beasts" series, paving the way for subsequent movies.
A total of five "Fantastic Beasts" films are planned to be filmed, and two of them have been released so far. The third film has been scheduled for release on April 8, simultaneously with the UK release, a week earlier than North America. "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" continues the story of the previous film, with Professor Albus Dumbledore ( Jude Law ) realizes that the powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is trying to seize control of the wizarding world.
Dumbledore understands that he alone will not be able to stop Grindelwald, so he entrusts the magical zoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead a sophisticated team - including wizards, witches and a brave Muggle baker - to jointly carry out this dangerous task.
Along the way, they will encounter a variety of magical animals, including old friends and mysterious creatures they have never seen before; at the same time, they may also conflict with Grindelwald's growing followers at any time. The stakes of this operation are so high, and it remains to be seen how long Dumbledore can remain on the sidelines.
"Fantastic Beasts" was originally a book written by the protagonist Newt, and was later set as a textbook for Harry Potter. The main story line of this series of movies is Newt's experience, and it also reveals a past event between the villains Grindelwald and Dumbledore in the wizarding world.
Not to mention these, just looking at the strange animals in it is already very attractive. I don’t know how many people wanted to keep a pet that could suck money when sniffing first appeared.
What surprised me was the huge space designed for animals in the movie itself. The small boxes were filled with animals that Newt had collected over the years. Apart from being funny, they often helped Newt turn things around.
Regarding "Fantastic Beasts", some books can better help us understand the causes and consequences of the new story. If we only watch the movie, we will always have to endure loneliness before the complete story comes out.
Every character in the movie has a meaning. For example, the setting of the heroine and sisters reading minds. I saw some popular science saying that "mind reading" already exists in the main story of "Harry Potter".
"When Newt first met Queenie, he said she was a 'legilimens'. This strange, seemingly new term actually comes from the spell 'legilimency'. The 'legilimency' spell played a crucial part in the fifth "Order of the Phoenix".It was precisely because Harry did not learn the 'Occlumency' from Snape to resist the magic of the 'Legilimency' spell, Voldemort took advantage of the situation and gave him false information, leading him into the trap of the Department of Mysteries, which ultimately led to Sirius's death. In "Fantastic Beasts", the 'Legilimency' spell was further extended, and the "mind readers" who were good at this spell became a type of wizard. "
This series did not receive as high a response as "Harry Potter". I think it was JK Rowling who jumped out.
She never wanted to make this series similar to "Harry Potter" "The special" world is so "flesh and blood", what she has to do is to use the precious details available in "Harry Potter" to start over.
"The biggest characteristic of Rowling's storytelling is that she loves to leave hints in inconspicuous details. These details are inadvertently connected to each other by the reader, and eventually weave into a dense network. "
When she was writing the seventh book of "Harry Potter", she had not conceived the idea of writing the story of the "Fantastic Beasts" series, so this time, her perspective was not the first one. She became keen on the identity of "reader" and found the previous one.
In the end, I will still go to the premiere with joy like the first two films, without judging its quality, just to attend the four-year magical appointment.
