reporter Hong Wen/Taipei report
artist Lin Yanjun (151) was interviewed on the 16th and was shocked to hear that he had shot a movie poster for the Chinese film "The Witness". He thought he was the heroine, but he has not been able to follow up. Now that the movie has done well at the box office, he feels emotional. In fact, former agent and film original storyteller Chen Yushan has already revealed the truth, "The concept poster is to communicate the atmosphere."

According to "Mirror Weekly", after Lin Yanjun and Chen Yushan signed the management contract, the other party was busy with the preparatory work of "The Eyewitness". "I also shot a poster for the movie, thinking that I would participate in the film." However, after the poster was shot, there was no follow-up, and I did not receive any new acting work for almost a whole year. As a result, my income was zero, and I couldn't even pay the rent. I didn't even dare to go through the front door because I didn't pay the management fee, so I secretly went home through the back door. "I had to live on my income. In the end, when I even had problems with my life, I was lucky enough to meet my current agent, who helped me escape from that inhuman life."
"The Witness" has so far grossed more than 50 million at the box office in Taiwan, and it is expected to win the Golden Horse Award. All this is particularly touching in Lin Yanjun's eyes. She confessed that after watching the movie, all she could think about was "I was originally going to star in this movie!" But looking back on the experience of that year, she still thanked her former agent Chen Yushan. Although those days were very hard, her life grew rapidly because of it. She never described the taste when hosting a food show, but later she mastered the trick and couldn't help but shed tears when talking about the past. At the same time, she did not forget to thank her hosting partner Apang for his patient guidance.

In fact, Chen Yushan has already revealed the reason for the poster shooting in her own "The Eyewitness" Facebook fan group (not Cheng Weihao's "The Eyewitness" Facebook fan group), "(Screenwriter) usually reaches zero at a certain period of time. At the zero stage, I will shoot concept posters." , "The purpose of concept posters is to communicate with relevant people, including investors, directors, actors, and related staff." "Concept posters are to communicate the atmosphere. In order not to let the atmosphere escape, I will print the concept posters and stick them on the wall." Therefore, Lin Yanjun is actually just the protagonist of one of the concept posters, providing Chen Yushan with convenience to discuss the script.
Regarding this, Lin Yanjun told "ET Watch Movies" through his agent, "Everything was done according to the company's arrangements at that time." Director Cheng Weihao entered legal proceedings due to a copyright dispute with Chen Yushan and no longer made any statement to the outside world. The film company Jiayang responded on his behalf: "The company is unaware of this aspect. Lin Yanjun is a very good actor. "After that, Jiayang will start other TV shows or movies. If there is a suitable role, I will be happy to cooperate with her."

The screenwriter I often work with has more than 200 script concepts on the computer. Usually we will chat and then write it down. Usually we will reach zero at a certain period. At the zero stage, I will shoot a concept poster. When I had no budget, I just grabbed pictures from the Internet and asked my artist to make a design draft. I care about the visual style because our entire concept and atmosphere are extended by concept posters. Then I took this picture at my own expense. The photographer is the great Miing. I took my concept poster to him and told him that I wanted the eyes to have the feeling of an innocent victim, but he might also be one of the perpetrators. The great photographer captured it, and I really like his lighting concept.
It will take us about a week just to find the concept poster pictures. If we have the budget, we will look for models, photographers, makeup artists and stylists. Usually the budget for entering the studio is less than 30,000 yuan. Before shooting, we need to sign a copyright contract with relevant personnel. Sometimes it is cheaper to do it, and it is possible that the concept poster will not be signed. The purpose of concept posters is to communicate with relevant people, including investors, directors, actors, and related staff.
Next is the third step, field investigation, data investigation and screenwriter search. We try not to write original works. Usually for versions 1.0 to 4.0, the screenwriter is responsible for writing and arranging the plot. We will think of the plot we want, and I usually use dictation. If the screenwriter wants to think of lines, the concept poster is to communicate the atmosphere. In order not to let the atmosphere escape, I will print the concept poster and stick it on the wall. (Now because of this incident, future narrations will be recorded. Either the screenwriter has to hold a computer or a pen and type while thinking about things. It is very troublesome for me)
When things go well, when the first screenwriter comes to write the script, I first outline it. From the outline, scene outline to the first draft of the script, it will be 1.0. Sometimes it will happen accidentally. 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 means there are three versions. At this time, I will change the draft. For example, I have three screenwriters plus five original writers, and we will change handwriting. Many people don’t like changing drafts. Even when we are working on the character, we will talk to actors and casting directors to communicate. The casting director helps me grasp the character of the character, for example, Xiao Qi’s personality, and what he is like in private. When we were working on the third draft in 2011, the screenwriter and director Chen Yujie gave me the suggestion to make the murderer someone, and that someone is the murderer in the current movie version.
My way of thinking when writing scripts is not the general way of thinking, and I don’t know what other people use. My own method is not something I learned from classes or experience, it’s just intuition. I have encountered screenwriters who thought my approach was strange and they couldn't accept it. When changing drafts, they got very angry and thought I didn't respect the screenwriter and resigned.
My investors will also ask why we should spend money to make concept posters, and we can do it when the movie is about to be shot, as well as field surveys, data surveys, and car accident data surveys. Therefore, we asked the police how many car accidents and hit-and-run accidents there are in Taiwan every year, and asked about the possibility of hit-and-run accidents, the possibility of finding the murderer, and the possibility of ending without a cure. These can trigger our inspiration.
Many small details will trigger my inspiration. For example, when I took the MRT yesterday, a woman came down the stairs with her back to me. That is, the whole person was walking in the opposite direction, but not like the great mage. It's scary and very realistic. I usually record this character detail at this time because it's very realistic. At that time, I even wanted to rush over and ask her why she was walking backwards. If my colleague hadn't just finished his work and we were about to leave, I would really catch up with the woman and ask her why she was walking backwards.
Then the reason I am imagining now is that it may be foot pain or knee joint problems. Another reason that I think is very interesting is the fear of heights. The stairs in the MRT are sometimes very long, and it is actually very scary to go down.
