China Taiwan Network, September 6 According to Taiwan's "United Daily News", the Democratic Progressive Party authorities released a large number of favorable policies during the election year, which led the Kuomintang "legislator" Li Yanxiu to question the authorities' inability to come up with specific economic development policies, but instead turned into a "subsidiary government." Kuomintang "legislator" Shen Zhihui criticized that every time before an election, the Tsai administration begins to improvise and use people's tax money to release favorable policies. This is all a vote-buying project of the Tsai Ing-wen administration. The policy bribery does not help Taiwan's overall economic development at all.
Shen Zhihui said that releasing favorable policies before every election has been a long-standing practice of the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in elections, but what are the real benefits to the people? The Tsai administration's current money-spreading policy uses people's tax dollars and has no contribution to Taiwan's economic development. Taiwan will only become poorer and poorer.
Li Yanxiu said that the subsidies introduced by the Tsai administration may be felt by the public in the short term, but they cannot be provided forever. In particular, tourism and youth policies cannot just be short-term subsidies, but must also have long-term development plans.
According to Taiwanese media reports, Tsai Ing-wen announced in her New Year's Day speech earlier this year that people with lower incomes should be given priority to share the growth dividends of the economy. The "Executive Yuan" once planned to allocate 40 billion yuan to "subsidize low-income earners with less than 30,000 yuan," and each person would receive 10,000 yuan before the Spring Festival. In the end, the whole case was aborted due to strong criticism from tax payers.
Looking back at the 2008 global financial tsunami, Ma Ying-jeou, in order to stabilize the economic situation and stimulate consumption, the "Legislative Yuan" passed special regulations, borrowed 85.8 billion yuan (New Taiwan dollars, the same below) to raise financial resources, compiled a special budget, and released it in early 2009. However, the "legislators" of the Democratic Progressive Party at the time vigorously criticized this method of taking money to spend on the people. (China Taiwan Net Li Yijun)
