There is a place called Nanfu in northern Thailand.

Unlike Bangkok has a bustling business district,

does not have Pattaya endless beaches. In addition to having a large area of forest,

is also a charming town that integrates Xishuangbanna, Lanna,

Sukhothai, and Lancang culture.

Here you can see the traces left by history,

feel the clear sky and primitive wildness.

Phumin Temple

Wat Phumin

The town center of Nan Province is a temple complex. Among these temples with different styles, the most popular is Phumin Temple (Wat Phumin). It has a unique cross-symmetrical base, with doors in four directions for entry and exit, and auspicious lions guarding the east and west sides. The thick walls and small windows in the interior are all in Xishuangbanna style.

The big Buddha enshrined in the temple faces all directions. No matter which entrance you enter from, you can see the smiling face of the Buddha. The round ears and nose of the Buddha statue have a strong Sukhothai style. The reliefs on the ceiling and beams in the main hall are reproductions of the Lanna culture. Although times have changed, they are still delicate and beautiful.

Most people who come to Puming Temple are attracted by the exquisite murals in the temple. At the end of the 18th century, these murals depicting Buddhist stories and the daily lives of the people at that time were created by Thai artists for 20 years. The part of the mural near the roof mainly tells Chinese Buddhist stories, while the lower part tells the daily life of Chinese people.

"The Great Whisperer" is the most famous mural of this temple. A man is whispering to a woman, which is called "The whisper of love spreads around the world" . The man in the interesting painting is its creator. Because this mural is so famous in the local area, many derivatives have appeared.

In the Thai movie "Yes or No 2", Jam looked at the murals on the wall and said to Kim: "If I put my love in the water, you might feel cold. If I put it in the vast sky, I am afraid of dark clouds covering it. If I put it in the castle, I am worried that others will steal it. Therefore, I hide my love in my heart." Looking at the whispers on the wall, what can you hear in your heart?
