The fourth Thursday of November every year is an important festival in the United States - Thanksgiving. In addition to eating turkey that day, there was actually a very important celebration - New York Thanksgiving Day Parade. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the scale is not as large as before. This year, with the Omickron variant being less toxic, most countries around the world have gradually relaxed, and this year's Thanksgiving tour will surely return to its previous grand occasion.
New York Thanksgiving Tour has a very long history. It was founded in 1924 and is hosted by Macy's in the United States. This year is already the 96th. Thousands of marchers will be marching on Manhattan’s Sixth Avenue, with millions of viewers watching the grand event on site or on TV.
What are the highlights of this year?
The 2.5-mile parade starts from 77th Street on the west side of Central Park , and at Columbus Circle east to Central Park South, then walk south along Sixth Avenue to 34th Street; from there, turn west to 7th Avenue to end at Pioneer Square in front of Macy's .
will have 16 huge cartoon characters balloons lifted into the air this year; the parade also includes 28 floats, 40 traditional and new inflatable toys, 800 clowns, 12 bands, 10 performance groups and Santa .
