This time, the gas cylinder valve with hidden dangers flowed into New Taipei City mainly in 8 administrative regions including Xizhi , Ruifang, Jinshan, Wanli, Shuangxi, Yingge, Xinzhuang , Luzhou, etc. The Fire Department pointed out that the number of cylinder valves flowed into is about 4,287. As of the 25th, 1,664 were recovered, with a recovery rate of about 40%.

On July 15, New Taipei City Government has convened operators to actively assist consumers in gas cylinder security inspection and actively recycle them, and replace them for free.

The fire department called on the public to check the gas cylinder switch at home immediately. If it is to be recycled, it should be stopped immediately, and notify the gas operator marked on the cylinder to replace it, or ask the nearby fire brigade to assist.

Fire Department reminds that gas cylinders should be placed outdoors and other well-ventilated places, and should be checked frequently for air leakage in the cylinder valve. The easiest way is to apply soapy water on the cylinder valve. If bubbles appear, air leakage is caused. In addition, people should develop the habit of closing the stove switch and cylinder valve switch after using gas to avoid gas leakage in case of damage or falling off of cylinder valves.

Fire Department also emphasized that the operators should actively cooperate and complete the recycling work before August 15; if they are found to be unwilling to cooperate or conceal, they will be severely punished in accordance with the law. If there is any illegal filling and use of cylinder valves with hidden dangers, they will be fined NT$20,000-100,000 in accordance with the regulations, the bottle inspection yard will also be fined NT$60,000-100,000-100,000 in accordance with the regulations. If the gas business is unwilling to cooperate with consumers to replace the cylinder, the bottle inspection yard will be fined NT$60,000-1.5 million.

The fire department reminds the public that if gas leaks, do not panic. Turn off the fire, hold your breath, open the window (lightly open the window), and avoid using electrical appliances; if there is still a large amount of gas leak, you should call 119 immediately to inform the fire brigade to deal with it.
