Mr. Kiyoshi Matsumoto has a high status in the Japanese mystery literary world and is respected as "a master of the social school mystery and an insurmountable master in the mystery literary world." Mr. Matsumoto can often point out social problems more deeply, and reflect the social thief under the general environment through the description of small people.
In fact, when I first read the article, I thought it was a collection of short stories. When I read the second chapter, I realized that it should be a novel, so I started to prepare the "traditional craft": a character relationship diagram.

The novel mainly tells the story of Yoshizo Takura, a contributor who specializes in writing leaked articles, who fell off a cliff and died tragically, and was determined to have committed suicide by the police. After a strange night of experience, the magazine editor Noriko felt that there was something else, so she and her colleagues conducted an investigation. This actually involved the ghostwriting plagiarism incident of popular female writers. The linked murders are weaving into a huge net of greed. Breaking the constraints of the net requires not only the discovery of conscience, but more about self-salvation and liberation...
The title of the novel is "The Pale Trajectory". In terms of the tortuous process of the original reasoning, it is indeed a veritable title. The ending of the novel is like an elusive lover. It often gives unexpected endings at the end, but logically it is linked together, which can be said to be a good move! ! ! But it might be better to further expand the title. The pale trajectory is indeed difficult to find to some extent. But on the dark soil at night, the pale trajectory shining by the moonlight is so dazzling and cold, as if it indicates that the greedy person has already known the mistakes he has made. The marks along the way, that is, the trajectory, cannot be cleared, and what we welcomes is more self-salvation.
Matsumoto is indeed a character from the last century, which leads to the behaviors of some characters depicted in books. As a modern person, it is difficult for me to understand, but the hypocrisy and pride of Ashazi Nakamura Tani, the arrogance and shadow of Yoshizo Takura, and Miss Fuko's resentment and inferiority are all very realistic contents. In the end, people can hardly defeat their own greed and make irreversible mistakes.
But at the same time, I think Matsumoto has his own humorous side. In the suspenseful detective novels, the love line between Noriko and Ryuo is sometimes out of place, and sometimes it is sometimes playful and cute. It is hard to say whether the description of the two-person world is a failure or a wonderful stroke, but I would like to call it the best lubricant in this novel.ヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ
