As we all know, in the ended nine-in-one elections in Taiwan, the Kuomintang won a big victory and the Democratic Progressive Party was in disgrace. The Kuomintang's great victory not only refers to winning the voice of most local counties and cities on Taiwan, but also lies in the fact that the new generation of forces within the Kuomintang are eye-catching and can come out to stand on their own. On the other hand, the Democratic Progressive Party lacks the power of the new generation, and the older generation of people over 60 years old are supporting the scene. It can be imagined that if these people over 60 years old gradually withdraw from the political arena, what kind of retreat will occur in the DPP and the disagreement of the young and yellow.
From the lack of talent reserves of the DPP, it can be seen that the young people on the island are no longer as keen on the DPP as they used to, but have gradually chosen to abandon them. There is an old saying, "Things must rot themselves, and then insects will grow." Today's Democratic Progressive Party is very much like the KMT in the past. It has lost its early spirit. After taking power, it should have promoted Taiwan to continue to develop, promote deepening exchanges between cross-strait relations, and seek benefits for its descendants. However, the Democratic Progressive Party has crazily hyped up the situation in the Taiwan Strait to make wedding dresses for its own power. How can young people be keen on? Naturally, there is no way to talk about the new generation of forces.
On the other hand, although the Kuomintang cannot be called the young generation of political rookies, it is at least much better than the DPP. Especially after the nine-in-one election, many new generation forces have begun to rise and hold important positions in many local counties and cities on Taiwan, symbolizing the future of the Kuomintang. Among these new political forces, Jiang Wanan is undoubtedly the most shining one, because the position of mayor of Taipei is extraordinary. The former leaders of the Taiwan region, such as Ma Ying-jeou, have been trained in the position of mayor of Taipei.
According to Taiwanese media reports, the handover ceremony for the new Taipei mayor will be completed on December 25. Jiang Wanan, who once served as the "legislator" of Taipei City, will replace Ko Wenzhe and take over the position of the new generation of Taipei mayor. Recently, Jiang Wan'an led a delegation to Taipei City to visit Ke Wenzhe and discuss the handover. During the
, a media reporter asked Jiang Wan'an, "Will it continue Ke Wenzhe's cross-strait exchange policy of "Taipei-Shanghai Twin Cities Forum"?" In this regard, Jiang Wanan did not vaguely, but directly expressed that he believed that "The Twin Cities Forum is meaningful and should be held substantively, so that cities can learn from each other and make Taipei City better." From this response, it can be seen that Jiang Wan'an has a positive attitude towards the Twin Cities Forum and cross-strait exchanges.
However, before the election, Jiang Wanan did not have such a position, but put forward three harsh conditions. Jiang Wanan said at that time, "The Twin Cities Forum can be continued, but there are three prerequisites, that is, 'Mainland fighter jets no longer fly around Taiwan, and release enough goodwill to Taiwan, and have equal status across the Taiwan Strait', so that they can continue to be implemented." The implication is that as long as the mainland military aircraft are still flying around Taiwan, the "Shanghai-Taipei" Twin Cities Forum will not be held.
Jiang Wanan's position mainly happened before being elected, especially when Peosi fled Taiwan, and the situation on both sides of the Taiwan Strait was tense, so there is a great possibility that Jiang Wanan was conducting a political show to show these three conditions, which is to win votes and confront the DPP's "anti-China and Protect Taiwan" card.
However, since Jiang Wan'an proposed the "three conditions", he was criticized and accused by other political forces on the island, including People's Party . Then Jiang Wanan did not insist too much on this matter, but revised his view, believing that the cross-strait "Twin Cities Forum" could be held, and he would do his best to create favorable conditions so that the "Cross-Strait Forum" during Mayor Ko Wen-je can continue.
From Jiang Wan'an's change in attitude, we can see that his cross-strait position is still in a vague state at present. Supporting the "Shanghai-Taipei Twin Cities Forum" is passively accepted, rather than actively launching changes. But the positive point is that Jiang Wanan is not like the DPP, stubborn and regards cross-strait exchanges like a flood and a beast, and wants to keep the two sides of the Taiwan Strait from old to death. Therefore, Jiang Wanan's cross-strait position can still be expected.
After all, as descendants of the Chiang family, from Chiang Kai-shek to Chiang Ching-kuo , they do not support "Taiwan independence". They have always been a key punishment for "Taiwan independence" elements. It was not until after the death of these two people, in the name of de-party nationalization that the DPP took advantage of the situation and became a force that cannot be underestimated. After opposing relevant internal policies of the Kuomintang, they embarked on the road of "Taiwan independence".
Before, some cross-strait political views of Jiang Wan'an were mainly verbal, without real power, and without practical actions. But now it is different. Jiang Wan'an is already the mayor of Taipei and has great power. I believe that his cross-strait policy will not follow his previous personality. He will definitely consider many realistic factors and make reasonable decisions. But the same is true. For the Kuomintang, we should "listen to what we say and see what we do." Then we should do a good job in unification step by step. After all, the dominance of cross-strait security and unification is always in the hands of mainland China!
