Taichung Qinmei InterContinental Hotel is expected to start construction as early as the first quarter of next year, and is expected to be completed and put into operation within 3 to 4 years. The group's brands operate and manage a total of 10 hotels in Taiwan.
On April 20, 2017, InterContinental Hotels Group and Qinmei Group officially signed an intercontinental Hotels Resorts commissioned management contract. This is the first Intercontinental Hotel signed by InterContinental Hotels Group in Taiwan. After this signing, all of the six major hotel brands of InterContinental Hotel Group in Greater China, except for Huayi Hotels and Resorts, have come to Taiwan, which is of milestone not only to the brand and the entire group.

Taichung Qinmei InterContinental Hotel will be located at the current location of the Caowudaoqin Art Museum in Taichung. It has a base of more than 13,000 square meters. It will be designed with the concept of "city in the city" and combined with local cultural characteristics. It is expected that construction will be started as soon as the first quarter of next year and is expected to be completed and put into use within 3 to 4 years.
Together with the Qinmei InterContinental Hotel signed on April 20, the hotels operated and managed by various brands of ICH Group in Taiwan (including projects under construction) have reached 410 . The hotels currently operated by IHG Group include Holiday Inn Express Taichung Park, Holiday Inn Express Taoyuan, Shenkeng Holiday Inn Express New Taipei City, and Inn Express Kaohsiung Hotel; there are three projects under construction: the Tainan Crowne Plaza Hotel, which is expected to open this summer, and the Holiday Inn Express Taichung Fengjia and Chiayi Railway Stations that are expected to open in the following year; it also includes the signed Taipei Dazhi Inn Express Hotel and Inn Express Alishan , both of which are expected to open in 2020.
