According to US media CNN, the United Nations released the 2019 World Happiness Report on March 20, showing that Finland won the title of "the happiest country in the world" for the second consecutive year, with China falling from 86 in 2018 to 93, and China and Hong Kong ranked 76th.

Northern Europe and Finland once again ranked among the happiest countries in the world, while Denmark and Norway followed closely behind. The United Nations Sustainable Development Network (SDSN) evaluates the happiness of countries based on indicators such as freedom, life expectancy, social support, trust and government corruption, and per capita GDP. It is also the seventh time since 2012 that the annual survey report has been released.
This year, the happiest countries in the world are still the leader in Nordic countries, with 4th to 10th places being Iceland , Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand , Canada and Austria respectively. In East Asia, Taiwan, ranked 25th, is higher than neighboring countries and regions such as Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and China.
As for the most unhappy countries, the top 10 are mostly distributed in South Africa or the Middle East, namely South Sudan , Central Africa, Afghan , Tanzania, Luanda , Yemen, Malawi , Syria , Botswana , and galabi Haiti .
Happiness Ranking
It is reported that this report surveyed and analyzed 156 countries and regions around the world, and the ranking indicators include factors such as income, freedom, social support, health and lifespan.
It is worth noting that the top five are Denmark, Norway, Iceland and the Netherlands, except Finland.
Global Happiness Ranking
According to John Helliville, editor of the World Happiness Report and professor at the University of British Columbia, Finland won the title of "the happiest country in the world" because of the lifestyle of Finnish residents.
Halliville said that although Finns have to pay high taxes to ensure social stability, they trust the government, have freedom, are very generous to others, and really care about each other.
