In the Pingtung County Mayor election ended on the 26th, according to the announcement of the election department of the Taiwan authorities, the Democratic Progressive Party candidate Zhou Chunmi won 217,537 votes and Su Qingquan won 206,460 votes. Su Qingquan questioned this and said that Taiwan's election department first announced the valid votes of 380,000, but Zhou Chunmi's votes combined with his own votes actually had nearly 430,000 votes, which was significantly more than the valid votes.
Taiwan media reported that Su Qingquan raised five doubts, including the island's TV media reported that the number of votes was "misplanted" during the invoice issuance process, the number of votes announced by the Taiwan election department fluctuated, and the number of votes in some voting places was interrupted, and there may be suspicion of collecting votes. He asked the Pingtung County Election Committee to immediately protect the evidence and re-check the votes.
Su Qingquan also said that many supporters sent videos to his service office in the past two days, reporting that some voting offices did not report on how many votes they received or issued. "The show was not very clear during the voting process, and it was in chaos."
Regarding Su Qingquan's lawsuit, the Taiwan election department stated that it is understandable that some candidates cannot accept the results of the Pingtung County Mayor's election and respect the other party's decision to adopt judicial methods, and the result is to be decided by the court.
