Although the bankruptcy and collapse of FTX, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has not yet subsided, it is reported that Amazon is already working on a mini series based on former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.
According to Variety Show, the AGBO production company of Russell Brothers will be responsible for the production of the show. Although the Russell brothers have considered taking over, Amazon chose to let Dave Weil, co-creator of the American drama Invasion, be responsible for the production of the 8-episode miniseries.
The show will tell the story of Bankman-Fried founding FTX with others and his lead the company into a liquidity crisis that ultimately led to his removal. The director and casting of the series are not yet announced, but Amazon is allegedly considering some of the actors the Russell Brothers have worked with during Marvel blockbusters such as Avengers: Endgame.
In the announcement of the series, Amazon Studios CEO Jennifer Salke said the Russell brothers were the ideal partner, while the Russell brothers said the time was ripe for the chaotic situation of FTX to adapt it into the series.
The Russell Brothers said in the announcement: "(The series) will cover many areas - the future of celebrities, politics, academia, technology, crime, sex, drugs and modern finance. At the center of it all sits an extremely mysterious character with complex motivations and potentially dangerous. We want to dig out the reasons behind this."
At present, Amazon has not released other information on the series, but according to Variety, Amazon plans to start official filming sometime next spring.
