Xinjiang Morning News (Text/Photo Reporter Zhang Tianyuan) On April 5, looking at the deformed car in front of his unit door, Mr. Zhu, who lives in the 3rd community of Anningqu Road Bus on Urumqi, was very depressed. "This car has been parked here for almost 3 years. Now it looks ignited by a cigarette butt thrown by an 8-year-old doll in the yard. The fire has long been extinguished, but the car is still parked here."
At 15:00 on April 5, a reporter from Xinjiang Morning Post came to the community and found the " zombie car " burned a few days ago in front of the unit of Building 7. The front wheel tires of the car are no longer where they go, and the rear wheels are parked all year round. The car body carcass has been leaked and deflated. The body patent leather has fallen off in many places. The four windows, including the rear windshield, have been damaged. Through the window, a reporter from Xinjiang Morning Post saw that the car was full of gray stains and scorched marks left by burning .
"At around 8 pm on March 31, I returned to the community and smelled a burnt smell before I even arrived at the unit building." Mr. Zhu, who works in the catering industry, said that when he approached, he realized that the "zombie car" parked in front of his unit building was burned. "The fire point of the vehicle was extinguished at that time, but it was still emitting bursts of gray smoke."
According to Mr. Zhang, since his family moved into the community in 2014, the "zombie car" has been parked here. His children usually like to play in the community with their friends after finishing their homework. The "zombie car" is often the base for the children.
"I was there when the vehicle caught fire that day. It was really scary to see the vehicle emitting thick black smoke. Now I am looking forward to pulling the car away quickly." said Ms. Yan, who lives in Building 6. At about
17, a reporter from Xinjiang Morning Post came to the Yingbin Road North Community in charge of the area. Community Secretary Deng Yongsheng said, "Around 6:40 on March 31, residents of the community reported that the "zombie" car in front of Building 7 caught fire. Community staff immediately went to put out the fire. It took a full half an hour to put out the fire."
By retrieving the surveillance, the community found that the cause of the accident was that a child slid roller slid suddenly threw a cigarette butt into the car while spinning around the car. After the child left, the vehicle emitted white smoke, which turned into thick black smoke.
It is understood that in 2015, the community investigated and dealt with the "zombie" car in the community and found that the fired vehicle had been sold by the original owner, but it was not handled due to the violation of the vehicle and was not transferred. For some reason, the owner has not taken the car away, so the car has been parked here. "We have called the current car owner many times, but no one has responded. We have almost sent a letter of assistance to the traffic police brigade in Xinshi District." Deng Yongsheng said.
