A few days ago, Taiwan's deputy leader Lai Ching-te took the opportunity of meeting with a US think tank delegation to throw out four conditions for dealing with cross-strait issues: "peace", "reciprocity", "democracy" and "dialogue" to the mainland. Following the unwillingness to be lonely, the Kuomintang is also preparing to offer three conditions for solving cross-strait issues to the mainland.
According to media reports on the island, on the 28th of this month, the Kuomintang will hold a plenary congress, so the bills of representatives are being collected in the past few days. However, due to the chaotic organizational structure of the Kuomintang in the past many years, many of the proposals proposed by the representatives have been shelved and few have been implemented.
In this way, the people above do not care about the opinions of the representatives below, and the representatives of the Kuomintang below do not treat the proposal as a serious matter, which often becomes a "storytelling competition."
To put it bluntly, only when the proposals proposed are sensational enough can they create public opinion topics and gain popularity for themselves.
Recently, a member of the Kuomintang surnamed Liu (Neither Taiwan media nor the Kuomintang disclosed his identity) submitted a proposal to the Kuomintang Central Committee. The proposal stated that based on the current situation of cross-strait relations, in order to maintain peace and avoid wars on the cross-strait, resulting in death and injury of Taiwanese compatriots, the Kuomintang should consider actively contacting and negotiating with the mainland to achieve unification.
It has to be said that in the context of the general pro-US era of politicians on the island, the statement of this Kuomintang representative, regardless of whether it makes sense or not, is that he also agrees that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to the same China, and are connected by blood, and should pursue peaceful reunification.
But in terms of details, the opinions of this Kuomintang representative are a bit ignorant. He put forward three conditions, including the mainland's abandonment of one-party dictatorship, unify all words into traditional Chinese, and at the same time re-examine the history since 1911.
says that if the mainland can agree with these three conditions, then the Kuomintang will support peaceful reunification, and it is not "one country, two systems", but the practice of "one country, one system".
Among these three conditions, re-examining the history since 1911 is actually to justify the Kuomintang and whitewash the dark history of domestic warlords fighting and people living in miserable lives under the rule of the modern Kuomintang.
must unify the text into traditional Chinese, which looks the simplest, but in fact it points to the issue of the cross-strait system. The so-called "cars and books are the same as the same as the text" is the power of the central government. If the method of the Kuomintang representative is really followed, it will not be the mainland that unifies Taiwan, but Taiwan that unifies the mainland.
The last thing is crucial is the first, which is to require the mainland to give up one-party rule. To put it bluntly, this is to use the so-called "democratic system" in the West to transform China. To put it bluntly, it is to "counterattack the mainland" with moderate means.
Over the past few decades, this is what the United States wants to accomplish most, but it has never been done. Now, the Kuomintang representatives use cross-strait unification as a bargaining chip to make the mainland accept this obviously wrong path, which is obviously a delusion.
Objectively speaking, the proposal of this representative named Liu is actually a "storytelling competition", which is completely incompatible with the reality of China and even the world.
Not to mention anything else, just take the so-called "democratic system" as an example. Over the years, Western capitalist countries have entered a desperate situation, and the social division in the United States is so serious that it may have a civil war at any time. Even if there is a civil war, there is no reliable way out.
For a country and nation, this is not a threat to the destruction of the country, but a threat to the destruction of the world. But these politicians on the island have always been influenced by Western culture. They cannot see the disadvantages of the so-called "Western democratic system" in the situation. They really don't know what to say about giving up "one-party dictatorship".
But on the other hand, judging from the political trends in Taiwan in recent years, this visit to Pelosi triggered a super-standard military exercise in mainland China. At the same time, before suspending trade exchanges with Taiwan in certain fields, neither the Kuomintang nor the DPP mentioned unification at all, as if "Taiwan independence" had become a fait accompli.
But after mainland China efficiently countered the Taiwan authorities and the United States, opposition parties including the Kuomintang and the New Party have begun to re-mentioned the issue of unification. Even if the price is raised everywhere, it will force them to not ignore the opinions of the mainland and the 1.4 billion Chinese people, which is also a kind of progress.
From this perspective, the mainland has always maintained restraint in the past and paid a huge price to be peacefully reunified by the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. However, the result is not obvious, but instead, the politicians on the island feel that the mainland is afraid of being jealous of the rat and dare not reunify the military.
Now the People's Liberation Army has implemented a blockade military exercise on Taiwan. The Eastern Theater Command has implemented normalized security patrols in the waters near Taiwan, which has prompted the politicians on the island to realize that the mainland has not forced them. It is not because they do not have this ability, but because the two sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to the same China, and they do not want brothers to get involved in the wall and be profited by outsiders.
is more cruel, which is to say that verbal warnings are 10,000 times, not once the bomber's wings are stoked. From this we can conclude that the importance of military reunification is important for realizing the reunification of the motherland.
Only when the politicians on the island realize that it is really forced to the mainland to be reunified will there be no benefit for them and there will be no chance to truly shock these hot people to draw a clear line between "Taiwan independence" and become a force to support unification on the island.
As for the small group of "Taiwan independence" elements of the DPP, it was confirmed in the white paper released by the State Council that they are obstacles that must be removed in the process of unifying in . There is nothing to say, just wait for the trial of history.
The Kuomintang is a force that can still be rescued, but this kind of rescue may be more effective than hard-working persuasion.
