After the meeting, the Kuomintang stated that the mainland has made a heavy commitment to not terminate the cross-strait economic cooperation framework agreement (ECFA), but after Xia Liyan returned to Taiwan, the Kuomintang turned against him again.
According to the latest news from Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao, the chairman of the Kuomintang recently said at the "People's Congress" that Xia Liyan's visit to the mainland was "very courageous and determined". The Kuomintang must be "pro-US, friendly to Japan, and harmonious with the mainland". In the past three years, Taiwanese compatriots in mainland China were "like an abandoned child" due to the epidemic and cross-strait tensions, and the DPP authorities have not fulfilled their due responsibilities.
It is worth noting that when Zhu Lilun mentioned the mainland, he did not mention "11 Consensus ".
Summary of Zhu Lilun's words, two views can be drawn: First, as the ruling party, the Democratic Progressive Party "does not match the position", the Kuomintang is seeking benefits for the people on the island; second, the Kuomintang is still willing to collude with the United States and Japan, and harming the overall interests of the Chinese nation.
In fact, during the period of his administration, the DPP did not do anything that was beneficial to the welfare of the people in Taiwan. Such as discontinuing the use of nuclear power plant and provoking the mainland to cause counter-attacks, etc., have had a great negative impact on people's lives.
In comparison, the Kuomintang does seem to have made substantial contributions to the welfare of its compatriots on the island, but it is only superficial.
After all, everyone knows the purpose of the Kuomintang's actions. It just wants to win votes. It is essentially no different from the DPP. It just disguises itself with a mask.
What is even more hateful is that the Kuomintang just received a heavy promise from the mainland and turned around and made it clear that it would collude with the United States and Japan for its own selfishness, which shows that it has two sides and three attacks.
At the same time, it is difficult not to doubt whether the Kuomintang will betray the interests of Taiwanese compatriots, Taiwan Island and even the country and nation for its own political interests, just like the DPP.
Because until now, the Kuomintang’s “pro-American” position is still unconcealed.
You should know that when Zhu Lilun visited the United States, he threatened that "the Kuomintang is a pro-American party", and tried to empty the connotation of the "1992 Consensus", and advocated that it was "a consensus without consensus", which is essentially no different from the "independence" behavior of the Democratic Progressive Party. It is nothing more than that the current Kuomintang has no courage and confidence to "independence" openly, and just wants to try its best to maintain the status quo.
So even if Zhu Lilun now claims to be "pro-US, friendly to Japan, and harmonious with the mainland", it cannot conceal the fact that the Kuomintang relies on the DPP. Instead, his repeated emphasis on "pro-US" will deepen others' suspicion of the Kuomintang's position, not to mention the "1992 Consensus" and plans to participate in the visit of the American group organized by the Taiwan authorities' "legislative body" to visit the United States.
According to Taiwan media reports, the Kuomintang "legislator" Chen Yixin said that he will go to the United States with 8 to 10 cross-party "legislators" in mid-September as the "Vice President of the Taiwan American Congress Association" to visit the federal Senate and the U.S. executive branch, and may also meet with Pelosi during this period.
Although Chen Yixin said he would not meet a specific person, only meeting U.S. lawmakers and administrative agencies is enough to see that the Kuomintang’s expected visit to the United States is a political collusion and cannot cover up the tendency of “blue to green”.
In fact, the tendency of the Kuomintang to redirect its position to the DPP is also very obvious. Before, when it was the ruling party, it did not want to discuss cross-strait reunification with the mainland. It just wanted to "maintain the status quo" under the "1992 Consensus". Now it is a little more arrogant and does not even want to stick to the "1992 Consensus".
Even though former Kuomintang Chairman Ma Ying-jeou has been emphasizing the adherence to the "1992 Consensus", he still has the idea of "maintaining the status quo".
Xia Liyan's visit to the mainland is also the same purpose now, but it is a little more than Ma Ying-jeou, that is, to attract votes for the upcoming city and county elections.
Based on the actual situation, the current cross-strait situation is constantly intensifying under the collusion between the DPP authorities and the United States, so the Kuomintang naturally cannot sit still. After all, it still counts on the ruling party on the island and separatist side to become the "local emperor".
So in order to maintain the "status status quo" of Taiwan's "not only do not unify" the Kuomintang has strengthened cross-strait exchanges to ease tensions. However, the current trend of cross-strait reunification is unstoppable. Even if the Kuomintang eases cross-strait relations, "maintaining the status quo" is impossible. Only supporting unification is the right way.
Judging from Zhu Lilun's speech, it can only be said that the Kuomintang is losing its principles increasingly. If this continues, it will only be regarded as the same thing as the Democratic Progressive Party and face liquidation and even trial.
Don’t forget that the former “stubborn Taiwan independence” Lu Xiulian saw the determination to unify the mainland, jumped out to seek peace, and called on “Taiwanese rulers should avoid war and seek peace, otherwise they will destroy generations once war begins.”
As the chairman of the Kuomintang, Zhu Lilun could not not understand this serious consequence. If he insisted on colluding with external forces, he would never have a good end.
