This time, GAC New Energy said that it could provide a Trumpchi GE3 pure electric car for me to use during the Guangzhou Auto Show. My first reaction was also rejected, but the other party said, "I brought the driver, so I don't have to worry about charging or anything else."

"That's so good!" I said. There are many social events during the auto show, and sometimes I have to drink some wine. It is really convenient to have a special car with a driver.

Trumpchi GE3 was first launched at the North American Auto Show in 2017. It was launched in July 2017. There were only two models at that time, with a guide price of 222,800-245,800 yuan, a battery capacity of 47 degrees, and an official maximum range of 310km; in August this year, GAC launched the GE3 530 with a 54.75-km electric power supply, with a comprehensive operating range of 410km, starting from 129,800 yuan after subsidy.

1, charging is not convenient, I am mentally prepared, charging is not cheap, I didn’t expect

The economic speed of electric vehicles is lower than that of fuel vehicles because it cannot excessively affect the passage of other vehicles on public roads. Back to the company, Master Guan went to charge again. This time, he said that he found a DC charging pile in the underground parking lot of a nearby hotel, but it only took 20% of the electricity to be charged in 50 minutes.

I tried the energy consumption of this car at high speed on Nansha Port Expressway again - basically maintaining a constant speed of 100km/h, and the average power consumption per 100km/h was 17 degrees. According to this power consumption, after deducting 20% of the reserved power, the GE3's range is about 220 kilometers. The weather in Guangzhou in November is pleasant, so there is no need to turn on air conditioning or heating. This actual energy consumption is quite good in electric cars.

Cruise at a speed of 100km/h on the Nansha Port Expressway, and the average power consumption is 17 kWh/100 km. It was still early when the

Searched on the APP that the nearest idle DC charging pile is five or six kilometers away, and we followed the navigation and went there. The charging fee is 1.29 yuan/kWh, and the service fee is charged separately - swiping the card is 0.6 yuan/kWh, and scanning the code is 0.8 yuan/kWh.

Public charging piles not only charge electricity fees, but also additional service fees, and most of them also charge parking fees.

We parked the car, and the battery level was exactly 60% left at this time. Master Guan plugged in the charging plug, swiped the card, and selected "automatic full", and the charging started, and the operation was very simple. The electronic display screen on the charging pile displays charging time, power consumption, battery SOC, time required for charging, and other information in real time.

When charging starts, our battery is still 60%, which is completely enough to return to the city. I mainly want to experience the charging process of public charging piles.

Because we have something to do next, we only charged for 24 minutes this time, which just charged 70%, consumed 5 degrees of power, and increased the battery by 10%, which means that the actual charging was about 4.7 degrees of electricity. From this, we can calculate that the charging efficiency is about 90%, the service fee is 3 yuan, the electricity fee is 6.45 yuan, and the total amount is 9.44 yuan; if you are scanning the code to pay, you have to pay 1 yuan extra for the service fee, then the total cost is 10.44 yuan. As for troubles such as charging, the driver will do it for him. It is really good for daily short commutes. But what if there is no driver? Given that my residence in the city and the building where my company is located, there is no charging facilities, this car is too troublesome for me.

Generally speaking, as a pure electric car, GE3 has excellent design, space, quality, comfort and handling, and is no worse than international big-name BEVs such as Chevrolet BOLT and Nissan Leaf. The performance and process quality of

four days of experience further confirms my consistent view on electric vehicles: BEV is still only suitable as a short-distance mobile tool.The limitation of charging convenience - mainly not that the number of charging piles is too small, but that the charging time is too long - determines that BEV cannot be used for long-distance driving, and it is useless even if the range is further increased to the level of ordinary fuel vehicles. We can drive a fuel car and travel far, not because a box of fuel can run far, but because it is very convenient to refuel, and it only takes a few minutes to add it once. Even if you are inevitably queuing up, it usually takes only ten minutes. If it takes three to five hours to add fuel, will you still drive for long-distance travel?

2, BEV is not something you can't buy, you have to meet some conditions

As a result, half of the electricity charged in two hours, a total of 24.7 yuan is spent. The pure electric mode can drive about 25 kilometers, which is equivalent to nearly 1 yuan per kilometer, which is much more expensive than if I am on the fuel! If the car uses only oil, it will cost less than 60 cents per kilometer. Of course, it will be different if you charge in your own yard. You don’t have to pay parking fees or service fees. You can charge it for less than 9 yuan. The actual range of pure electricity is 50 kilometers, which is equivalent to only 18 cents per kilometer!

Home or unit has fixed parking spaces where charging piles can be installed, which is the prerequisite for purchasing BEVs.

. With the above premise, you can consider buying a BEV for the second or third car at home, but if you can only have one car at home, then don’t buy a BEV. When public transportation is so developed, why do we still own a private car? Because the travel freedom that a private car can provide is irreplaceable by any other method. Only a private car can go wherever you want and go wherever you want. But, sorry, a BEV can't do it - and believe me, I will never do it in the future. There are new forces who are quarreling, saying that their home BEV can be used wherever gasoline cars can go. Of course, they did do it - rented a large car, pulled a few charging cars, and followed.
