Regarding the broadcast rights of the 2022 World Football Championship, the director of the Thai Sports Bureau revealed that the Thai Sports Bureau has reached an agreement with FIFA (FIFA ) to purchase the broadcast rights of 64 games of the 2022 World Football Championship for US$33 million (approximately 1.4 billion baht). The next step will be to sign a contract with FIFA and prepare for the broadcast of the event.
Previously, it was reported that FIFA and agents set the broadcasting fee at around 1.6 billion baht. In response, the Thai Sports Bureau applied for a budget of 1.6 billion baht from the National Radio, Television and Communications Commission of Thailand, but the Thai National Radio, Television and Communications Commission only approved 600 million baht from the Public Welfare Research and Development Fund .
has 1 billion baht left, and the Thai Sports Bureau has to look for private enterprises to provide support. Private enterprises including True Corporation, ThaiBeverag and PTT support about 400 million to 500 million baht, which has brought nearly 1.1 billion baht for purchasing broadcast rights.
Thailand Sports Bureau has invited 21 digital TV channels to discuss the management of broadcasting rights. After that, the Thailand Sports Bureau will announce to the public that it has obtained broadcasting rights, including channels that can watch live broadcasts.
