The retired driver of the connecting vehicle, Luo Jiasheng, won the championship with the stone carving "Hello". Xie Jingrong, deputy director of the Chiayi Municipal Cultural Bureau, said that this year's Shihou Entry Competition received a total of 61 works, and the competition was quite fierce.

Luo Jiasheng said that he originally drove a connecting car and started carving stone monkeys after retirement. He participated in the stone carving class of Chiayi Community University and was guided by the stone carving artist Cai Yongwu. He has been carving for about 7 or 8 years and currently has his own studio. Why did
start carving stone monkeys? Luo Jiasheng said that he became involved with the stone monkey because when he was a child, he lived next to his home called "the number one monkey carving in Chiayi". He saw him carving more in the past, so he wanted to carve the stone monkey after retirement. It was surprising and happy to be the first place this time. The work was based on the appearance of the stone, with a little ink, and carved the monkey's hands in front of his mouth and said Hello.

Xie Jingrong pointed out that Luo Jiasheng's work "Hello" uses Bazhangxi threaded fossils, making full use of the original shape, and carving it with a very small amount of humans, showing the shouting monkey posture moderately. Although the work is not big, it is full of momentum and has been unanimously praised by the judges.
It is reported that the creation of stone monkeys in Chiayi City started with amateur craftsman on the Dashi Street in the south gate ring. It has a history of more than 70 years. This special local theme creation not only created the name of Taocheng stone monkeys, but also shaped the special cultural landscape of Chiayi. Therefore, since 2008, the stone monkey carving competition has been held, successfully attracting people in Taiwan who are interested in stone carving creation to participate, and also expanding the local art and cultural energy of Chiayi.
