AMD Although there is a brand new Vega Vega, the previous generation Polaris Polaris, which is positioned as a mid- and low-end field, is still very useful. Recently, AMD has released the Radeon E9170 series of embedded graphics card based on the Polaris architecture.
AMD has previously had two Polaris embedded graphics cards, namely the high-end E9550 and the mainstream E9260. It is based on the Polaris 10 and Polaris 11 cores, 2304 and 896 stream processors, and can basically be regarded as the same model as RX 480 and RX 460.
E9170 series is likely to be the small core of Polaris 12, which is the same as RX 550. It is equipped with 512 stream processors, core frequency 1124MHz or 1219MHz, maximum floating point performance 1.2TFlops, paired with 64/128-bit 2/4GB GDDR5 video memory , equivalent frequency 6GHz.
AMD said that the performance per watt of the E9170 series has reached three times that of the previous generation E6760.
E9170 series provides three styles of in the Polaris family for the first time, MCM, MXM, and PCI-E, and has different sub-models. Among them, E9171 MCM has power consumption less than 40W, and is paired with 128-bit 4GB video memory, and the output supports five DP/HDMI/DVI.
MCM integrated package
E9174 MXM Type-A, E9172 MXM Type-B, paired with 128-bit 4GB and 64-bit 2GB, with a maximum power consumption of 50W and 35W.
E9175 PCI-E full height single slot and E9173 PCI-E half height single slot , the video memory and power consumption are the same as above, but the output support is different, with five mDP, one DP plus two mDP respectively.
Multimedia and video output have always been the strengths of A card. The entire E9170 series supports DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, 4K H.265/H.264 encoding and decoding, and wide-domain five-screen 4K output.
It mainly targets embedded fields such as mobile and static screen digital signage , retail store and automatic service terminals, factory human-machine interface system, thin client computing, defense and aerospace head-up display and other embedded fields, and provides a life cycle of up to 7 years, which will continue to be provided until 2024.
E9170 MXM/PCI-E version ships in October, and MCM version ships in November.
